Hey everyone! I’m looking for some clarity on an engine issue with a 2000 Honda Civic EK I’m considering. The seller claims it has a 1.6L dual VTEC engine with the engine code D16W. However, from my research, the D16W seems to be a single VTEC engine, not dual VTEC as the seller says.
From what I know, the D15B (1500cc) is the one that actually comes with 3-stage VTEC (often confused as dual VTEC). So, I’m a bit skeptical about the seller’s claims.
Can anyone with more knowledge confirm if the D16W could be dual VTEC or if the seller might be mistaken? Would really appreciate some advice before making a decision. Thanks in advance!
