my civic x has red meter.registration date is February 2018.year of manufacture on card is 2017.So is it 2017civic or 2018.I am second owner.I am not a car person that's why no idea about these things.
As you said yourself that the year of manufacture on the smart card is 2017, so obviously your Civic is 2017 model, but registered in 2018, still it will be considered as 2017 model Civic and not 2018 model.
I hope that it clears your confusion.
Probably, previous owner has changed the cluster / meter to that of late 2018 model.
