Civic x 2018. Slugglish acceleration

Assalmalaikum,

I recently got a civic 2018 used. Very clean car good suspension and no other issues. Mileage below 50k.

When I drive the car I noticed that the engine revs high but the car doesn’t accelerate as fast. For reference at 30km/h the rpm goes as high as 4000, but it take a while for it to get to 40.

The fuel average is also really bad getting around 5-6. There are no sounds or noises. The car drives very smoothly once it picks up speed. I however have sometimes noticed that on leaving the pedal it jerks a little. Not sure about this tho.

What could be the most likely reason for this and what could be causing this.

I’ve tried testing on S mode felt a similar thing. The engine revs completely fine when on N. The car idles at 700-800rpm and no slow idling issues or anything.

Some questions I have are
1) wouldn’t the catalytic converter or fuel pump cause issues when reving in neutral? Haven’t experienced this at all. Revs very smoothly

2) Given that there are no noises, no jerks, no rapid rpm drops or anything. It even drives smoothly if you don’t hard accelerate is there a still a chance that the gear box is damaged?

Also I further checked and if I don’t hard accelerate the fuel average becomes normal. For example I drove on an empty road at normal speeds without any hard accelerations and was able to get 12km/l. Also tested a couple of times no jerks when leaving pedal was probably reading into it too much.
