Civic X CVT fluid

Aoa! I want to change the transmitter fluid of my car as it has crossed 60k kms. Kindly suggest best recommended CVT fluid for Civic X.
I inquired from Honda and they’re charging 5700rs for the transmission fuild and 800rs service charges. Should I go for it or change it from somewhere else. Advice needed.

kindly use only honda fluids for honda transmissions
buy the oil from a reputable shop in the market if this seems expensive to you
but use only genuine honda fluids in honda transmission

Only use Honda genuine CVTF in your car, and only the type, which is applicable to it, and mentioned in the cars' owners / users manual.

Always remember, Honda's ATs / CVTs / DCTs, etc. are quite sensitive when it comes to their transmission fluids (unlike Toyota's) and after market fluids can cause damage to them.

Get it changed from Hinda 3S. Don't get oil from outside.

You got two choices for the fluid. One is 3.5L pack from Honda, costs around 5.5k other option is amsoil which will cost you around 10k. Both are HCF-2. Choice is yours.

Of course you can use engine oil, from any brand in your car, be it ZIC, etc.

Brand may not matter much (of course it must be well reputed and recognized).

Engine oil grade, its API / ILSAC, etc. rating, composition (fully synthetic / semi synthetic / mineral, etc.), etc. are the things which matter in selection of any oil.

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear enough. I meant in the transmission. If i flush all 7lts of existing transmission fluid in the gearbox and pour in new oil from zic - whole 7lts

As far as I know, in case of Honda Transmissions, its best to only use, and always use, transmission fluids by Honda.

After market may be sincerely avoided, as Honda transmissions are quite sensitive to aftermarket transmission fluids.

It would be best if you could find out which type of transmission fluid is reqd. in your Civic 2004?

Just find its type, and buy from any authorised Honda 1s dealer, which sells Honda genuine products.

On a side note, I was very surprised to read in my Accord 2007 owners manual, which goes like:

In case of MT Accord, if Honda genuine MTF is not available, then 10w-30 or 10w-40 engine oil grade (to be used in Gasoline engines) can be used in its place.

Can you believe that?

Get it changed from the dealership. It will cost u a bit more but rest assured that the CVT will be fine. Honda's transmission are really sensitive and shouldn't be experimented upon.

Don't think of going anywhere except Honda.
Why taking risk for merely 1500-2000 rupees at the max on a car worth about 4 million.

Technically, many other oils can be used in civic x CVT, but in Pakistan, we can never be sure about quality of oil, be it in any packing. So the safest bet would be to go Honda.
