Civic X or Kia Sportage FWD which one to book?

Hello all Pakwheelers

so i have narrowed down between these two Civic X or Sportage Fwd (not Alpha) i know there is a difference of around 9 to 10 lacs

as of now civic ug cost around 41 lacs and Sportage will cost around 50 lacs

am more inclined towards civic as one thing is obvious it will save me 10lacs moreover its a market car and resale will be a plus, but my question is i have seen many issues regarding civic steering, transmission and many other is it really worth it i know most of you be like all these are solved in 2021

so if i stretch my budget and go for KIA sportage FWD (middle trim) is it worth it ? how does the quality of both cars if we compare these two solely on the basis of money,

Does KIA sportage worth going for leaving the Civic and paying 10lacs more i know its a crossover as compared to sedan,

How is the overall response of KIA sportage in the market ?

They both are different segment car I have kept both had civic oriel X for 2 yrs then moved to Sportage AWD for a yr and back to civic with a turbo this time…..

So both are different cars caters different needs, Sportage is sub compact SUV more of utility car with more storage. I have been to China border and back on Sportage from Karachi with no issue, yes it’s a good car if it serve your purpose…

Civic on the other hand is a sedan more grounded more sportier and with a change of tyre gives you driving thrills so it’s all comes down to what you need at the hour both cars have do’s and don’ts
most of the issues with civic has already been rectified so don’t need to worry abt them specially when you buying new car as it comes with warranty

Only suggestion I can give is if you opt for Sportage go for AWD as it has good resale over FWD i sold my car after 9 months drive and abt 10k on odo for the price I bought it for including registration charges

If u like spirited drive, sportage is not for u. If u want just a good family car, sportage is nice.

AWD will be Out of budget max i can stretch to FWD Middle trim , dont know about the resale of its middle variant , one clear edge for civic will be its resale

but one question does civic worth the price i mean the car was price 25lacs in 2017 and now paying coz rupee depreciation and other factor 40 lacs this thing is nagging me alot and getting inclined towards sportage

morover general feedback for sportage is well people are happy with its performance thats what i have seen uptill so far,,

is there is any known issue in sportage please comment here

Sportage doesn't really have any known manufacturing faults except a few cases which are owners negligence. To be honest, Civic or Corolla or Elantra are not worth 40 lac, and that's the reason we are seeing more Sportage's on the road as the price isn't much between the Sedan and Crossover. Sportage is a very comfortable car regarding suspension response and seats comfort. Driving thrill is only present in Civic Turbo not Oriel 1.8 or neither Grande neither Sportage, they just have enough power for day to day usage for a normal person who is not a person wanting full power output. Although, parts prices of Sportage are very high so you might want to look into it and also cost of periodic maintenance as well as I've heard it's more expensive than Corolla and Civic. One should only buy Civic or Grande if it's a strict 40 lac budget with only 0 meter Sedan as a possible option. Again that's my opinion, everyone can think differently.

I am of the opinion that the AWD would sell better than the FWD. A person looking for crossovers in the used car market with a budget of 5 million plus would be willing to spend the extra 3 to 4 lakhs to get all the bells and whistles of the top of the line variant. One of the biggest considerations for the used car buyer would be the AWD system with diff locker, which most people incorrectly confuse with a proper 4x4 configuration on a ladder-frame SUV. The thinking of the average used crossover buyer that "itnay paisay kharch ker kay bhi 4x4 nahi hay" is unfortunately a factor that you need to keep in mind. Having said that I think the FWD is a more value for money choice but the AWD version may sell better.
I booked two AWD variants in panthera metal and black last month with expected delivery in Feb, 2022.
