Civic X Turbo Shuts off when stopping

Hi guys,

I'm facing issue with my Civic X Turbo when I slowdown in traffic or stop by at signal it turns off abruptly. It happens couple of times in a day. It's driven around 54k on ODO. Air filter is K&N and plugs are changed at 42k ODO. One thing I noticed when I slowdown my car its RPM goes down quickly then comes back at normal. Your help will be appreciated.

Get throttle body cleaned if not done already. If you have got it cleaned it needs idle learning via honda kumputr

Use oem air filter if u r talking about those round aftermarket air filters.

No K&N air filter is good i get good response when throttling my car.

You get good response because it let's more air in by filtering less, leading to a throttle body that gets dirty sooner than it would've if the car had an oem honda filter, hence making this idle rpm fluctuation issue

You're right. Conical filters filter less dirt.

You meant its was a mistake by buying K&N Filter? I heard good reviews about it. Are you suggesting to change it to oem filter?

is it drop-in air filter like oem? Do you have picture? i had PRL drop-in stage 1 intake and no issue at all felt better responsive until i went full CAI for more boost.

Ur air filter is ok.I thought u were using the one which some people called turbo

World is using this Turbo and I'm facing this issue since couple of weeks. Obviously its been 4.5 years brother so there're few wear n tears haha

Even the oil coated cotton-based drop-in K&N filter provides better airflow than the oem paper media based filter at the behest of reduced filtration efficiency.

Not even K&N claims anywhere on the product label or its website that the filter provides as much air filtration as the oem. Only more air flow.

On routine driving in a dusty environment like Karachi, one major drawback would be more frequent throttle body cleaning.

Get your fuel pump replaced asap. My turbo did this at 30k, and it is completely stock. Your fuel pump is failing and you should get it replaced under warranty
