Cl7 rain sensor help

Salam to all..
recently i purchased an accord cl7, the wind screen of the vehicle was changed by the previous owner.
the rain sensor was attached to the wind screen by double tape..
My electrician checked it n bla bla and atlast he fixed it with elfy on th screen.
The sensor worked for few hours properly but at evening it was again abnormal..

The wipers works at a very slow speed while on auto, sometimes gains speed insanely with no reason.

Now what should i do?

electrician also charged me a lot for this, he said( 3 bar computer lagaya hai, bari gariyo k fault k paisay aesay he hotay hain n bla bla)

i have my mouth full of fouls .... these $%$%#@#$% destroy stuff and act as if GAWD.

the rain sensor replacement on windscreen is done with thin transparent double-side sticky tape so the sensor is not insulated but remains in 'FEEL' mode when active

abnormal behavior is due to elfy spread out. try not to fiddle more or you may lose the sensor all together. live with it

new sensor costs about 32k, i think my sensor is destroyed

not your sensor

the rain sensor on car is half cooked. LEAVE it as it is we do not live in tropical area where it is a 'Necessity'.

any bookshop you can find double-sided transparent tape for 30 - 50 a roll. You need less then 6 inches of it.

tell elecytician wht happened, and if a part needs to be cleaned up, he'll do it or find you another part.

You used Elfy on a CL7 sensor!I don't even use it on my Civic!

Ruined abt 5k on this sensor, that stupid electrician also charged me around 3k for just pasting it with elfy. Now i never ever go to that electrician InshAllah

The rain sensor consists of an outer shell, unit and a little glass of deep red colour. The glass is attached with the screen and then the whole module works. The sensor without wind screen is incomplete.
therefore, that glass had some spots of elfy, i used cutter blade to plain the surface and then done same on the screen, then used the tape to stick it with screen.

  The sensor is working perfectly fine.... thanx to capsat again....:)

Xulfiqar is GURU of this forum and i have learned alot from his expertise and did many tweeks out of his guidance which i was puzzled to fix before. His guidance aka postings in different threads is a great knowledge base.

the rain sensor sticky tape is actually a 3M product and can be found in markets which deal in glass. The original is actually thick as 70gm paper and the tape at bookshops is about as thick as three business cards stacked. It works but is a little slow.

Some cars require UV setting liquid to paste the sensor on the windshield (I tried to stick it with the same sticky tape and it was "slow" to respond) so bonding compound was sourced and used. Removal requires its own solvent to dissolve the glue.

under no circumstances should you use cyanoacrylate quick set plastic glues to bond the sensor, the crystal structure of the glue makes the sensor "blind and dumb" and can even burn and warp it.

The tape i got from a car spare parts shop in lahore was quite less in width, about half then a centimeter. I used it in strips on the glass of the sensor. Then attached it with the screen, but it was transparent and crystal clear like a scotch tape.
The sensor is working fine but when i set the level at high point, it sometimes wipes without any rain, but if it is adjusted in middle then it works totally perfect. Tried it several time by using a garden pipe.
If u have some better tip regarding this then please share....
