Clutch Throw out bearing

How can I know if the release/throw-out bearing is in contact with the pressure plate all the time i.e spinning continously even when the clutch pedal is fully released?

a worm out thrust bearing will be very noisy. That worn bearing can produce rattling noises. These noises are most noticeable when the clutch pedal is pressed down. Difficulty changing gears – If the bearing lacks proper lubrication, the clutch may not fully release, resulting in difficulty shifting gears.

It only spins when you press in the clutch.

But let's say if there's zero freeplay in clutch, then won't the bearing spin even when clutch pedal is all the way up? Basically I want to know if there is any relation between freeplay adjustment and the clearance between this bearing and pressure plate when clutch is all the way up

If your clutch is all the up, it usually means you are at wear limit of the friction plate and yes the bearing can be spinning in this case if the setting is so bad that the clutch never fully releases.

Oh my bad by all the way up I meant when pedal is fully released I think you took it as bite point, anyway please guide me how can I adjust just enough freeplay so that I'm sure that the release bearing in easy language is disconnected from pressure plate when I lift my foot from the clutch, another thing I've heard that on a cable clutch bite point is not adjustable like you can't make it high or low, is it true?

what car do you have? hydraulic or cable type clutch?

theres a level on your gearbox, that attaches to clutch cable.

that cable goes to the clutch pedal.

keep your car in neutral

adjust your cable so that its loose, and lever is in its original position. at that original position the bearing is not rotating.
if its still rotating at that point, you have damaged/bent components.

then you can start tightening the cable to where you find your preferable driving position.

not exactly sure, but adjustments should be possible both at lever end and clutch pedal end.

That nut on the gearbox is full tight and can't be turned clockwise any further hence there's no free play in clutch pedal right now, how many times should I turn it anticlockwise so that there's just enough freeplay, And my purpose of this thread is fulfilled i.e bearing should only rotate when clutch is pressed

how many times you have to turn it will be based on Feel.

as one cannot judge how much deformation is there in the lever or how much the cable is stretched out, or even if the cable is an incorrect part.... etc

also check at the clutch pedal. freeplay is normally set at the clutch pedal.

Actually when I got the car last year, there was too much freeplay in clutch pedal and I didn't like the feel of the pedal, gear shifting was also hard, which is why I fully tightened the adjustment nut on gearbox and removed freeplay + it made gearshift smooth, I have no issue with the feel of pedal since then as the adjustment I did made the clutch pedal kinda solid, but few days back I was going through a thread online where I found this thing that if there's no freeplay in clutch pedal the throwout bearing can be damaged as it maybe spinning all the time, which is why I'm trying to figure out how much is enough
