Petrol price reducation of Rs. 3.xx is reverted, MORE reduction is expected by saturday

the CNG price HIKE is delayed, a reduction is expected to current prices.

It is an eyewash - wait till expected FINANCIAL EMERGENCY comes into Effect. ( i hope & wish to be wrong )

^^ Diesel is still the cheapest of them all for me and as usual because our people are mostly moved by cheap fuel and not common sense all the wagon/pickup drivers will put the diesel engines back or redo the CNG to LPG.

Guru please help me & guide for diesel swap late this year.

am seriously considering to go for 1997-2000 model corolla (indus karola) and swap a diesel engine to it recommend me a toyota diesel engine. was it a 2C standard diesel motor in that car when mass produced by Indus also which auto tranmission can be coupled to it for a better performance ..

yes its the old 2C engine, and it can be coupled to its automatic transmission, it will be lazy in NA but an absolute hoot in turbo form. Once the turbo blows hard and the pump ups the fuel right about the rpm where the convertor stalls - wheeeeeeeeeee torque band riding.

I once put a 1KZ-TE with auto into a cressida, the combo was NIIIIIIIIICE. When the trans shifted from 1-2 I could break loose the rear wheels from the available torque I was brake torquing the car like crazy with billows of while clouds. And when the trans shifted into 2-3 and 3-4 the engine did not lose much rpm but instead the car would surge like an elastic band pulled it ahead. The way it could accelerate between 80-145 km/h was almost electric, but the 1KZ-TE is not a very frugal engine.

2C (non turbo) can be coupled to an Auto transmission from 1.6 GLI auto [4A GE engine] of same year ? am not looking for 'burnin rubber' if swap is in economical range I will use it for daily commuting.

we have a 2.0D 1999 (Diesel)
Civic 2006 EXI on CNG
Corolla GLI 2011 (Petrol)

and we found GLI cheaper in all the three variants!

The A series engines transmissions will not work because they are small and the bolt pattern is different, the S engines share the same bolt patterns as the C engines in toyota, You can easily find a 2C diesel NA with its own automatic transmission at the scrappies.

They are not very economical because of the slip losses in the transmission but, they rob about 1km/lit from the graph if the engine is in proper health and tune.
