CNG is destruction of engine

i think cng is just the destruction of engine. we are destroying our engines in long run and ultimately the repair and mental and physical tension equals the money we save by running our ride on cng. cng vehicles give one problem or other always . we had a khyber .we bought in 97 and kept for 8 years on petrol never visited any mechanic other than the routine maintenance but in 2006 my father gave that car to my elder bro and he got cng installed in that car and after that he paid regular visits to mechanics. and even if u go to any mechanic ull find new cars standing there for one problem or other and mostly because of cng so in short drive less but drive on petrol.

mechanic differs alot.....achay mechanic say ya ache jaga say lagwao *** to ur car will do better othervise it will create problems agar ultay mechanic k hath lag gae to...
i also have a khyber 99 it was on petrol but when it came under me i installed CNG in 2009 n beleive me aik dafa bhe mechanic k pas nai lay kar jana para itx performance itx quite good in CNG pick speed wagaira all are perfect it do 110 km/h in CNg!!!!n i love it

yeah cng sucks .... its a bomb in car which can explode any time.... here people say fuel tank is more dangerous than cng .... but what i say is cng guys have 2 dangerous things in their car ... they too have fuel tank .... ... lol ... bycott cng ...

i agree!cng is a slow poison and it destroys the whole engine of the car!even the electrical system gets disturbed!!!!!but in a country like pakistan where petrol is so expensive cng is the only option left for us!!!!!! : (

Hmm your car was already past its life so if you install cng to already weak engine and than it starts to break down, You should not blame CNG for it.

I am using CNG cars for 2 years. and this one from 8 Months i only get the oil change.

India is also going to use CNG in there cars and now i heard UAE also got plans.

So in future you will see CNG Vehicles all over the world. If you can afford petrol there is nothing like that.

I agree with u dear. I kept a sunny on cng in the past, and it started giving me troubles after a year or so. Now I own a corolla 2.0d since last two years and still have not visited mechanic MashaAllah, except for changing oil. In the past i had also kept a very old diesel car and believe u me that the visits to mechanic were too less.
Recently bought a pajero jr and after one washing/service, its ignition coil was damaged. It was OK on petrol but on CNG so much problematic, so i had to change ignition coil, which was very expensive.
SUMMARY: NO CNG NO PROBLEM

yar you are absolutely wrong cng does not do anything with engine.Whenever u drive the car on high rpm them definaely you have to pay for it.If you drive with care does not go beyound 3000 rpm them it wont do anything.
Cng is the fuel it does not have any relation with engines health.

i agree that many countries are using cng but why the **** these car manufacturers are not manufacturing engines which should be meant for cng only . engine banatay petrol par hain or hum chalatay gas par hain. today i went to an OBD diagonistic shop and he told me k wo gari ko petrol par ok kar day ga par gas ki guarantee nahin or meri gari MASHALLAH petrol par wesay e xcellent hai masla gas par hai.

we had 2.8 SSRG surf 98. it was a damn tough mother.we kept for 3 years and never went to any mechanic even once except for oil change.one ov our neighbours also had same jeep and one day the wise owner got its engine changed on petrol and got cng installed and after that his surf became even worse than fx and ultimately he had to sale it. in short cng is mother ov all problems

I don't understand CNG in Honda City - the car gives awesome mileage. With a light foot, it has been reported to give upto 20kmpl. What else do you need?

About the rest, its personal choice I believe. Pay in advance, and then save for a given period of time (CNG) OR pay in installments. There isn't much net difference in the first 30k kilometers.

All above reporting problems seems like mostly got the car converted from people who did bad job.

I agree if City gives 20 KMPL than there is no point in installing CNG.

But if you see my car its a EE90 Hardly gives 10 KMPL local so with cng it gives 19 KM per KG Local with A/C so I am enjoying it with no issues at all

my uncle just bought city 2010 and he is verh happy wid the consumption and says he wont go for cng.yar agar mujhay 20 km pl kia ager 15 kmpl bhi mil jaye main cng ko kick out kar dun but my spectra do only 10 kmpl

no matters what, cng or petrol, do maintain ur ride regularly not occasionally, then see no problem comes to you ...

Bhai seedhi c bat hai .. I cant afford petrol right now therefore using CNG.. other wise i would not have converted it to CNG investing over 25Ks. I did that to save my running cost.

So , atleast in my case, Its not a matter of choice but rather its the only way i can afford to be driving a 4 wheeler.

You can't be more wrong. I converted my HONDA CIVIC 1995 EX 1.5L when it had done 48,000 km. I also used to hear these stories about how CNG will ultimately destroy the engine. The same car has now done 240,000 km. There is still no issue with the engine. No smoke. No oil consumption. Power is still good. No leakages anywhere. In fact CNG has been beneficial in at least one way...the engine oil runs clean even when I change it after 5,000 km. Thats something I never saw with petrol.

hmm lets talk sm facts...my alto gives me like 8.5kmpl with ac within city....and i have driven the car 55k kms...which menas i would have used 6471 litres of petrol by now...and that means the car would have drunk the fuel of 436k..!!..

on CNG..average is 12.5km/kg...55k driven on CNG...which means 4400 kg of cng is used...and that means car ate CNG of 243.5k..!!

so overall i saved 192.5k...which is alot of money..!!..and by 100k kms i would save 300k+ and if after that i would have to spend 60k on engine rebuild ...i wouldnt cry..!!...it saves alot of money..!!
