CNG on Mercedes Benz C 200 2000 model

Hello, I need your advice. I want to buy Mercedes Benz C 180,200 or 220 2000 model. I know that this will be very old car but I can't afford more and also it is very reliable car and there are a lot of cheap parts of that car in my country. What I want to know is: Is it better to get car on Diesel or on Gasoline and than make it on CNG? I have two options here:

1) If I will buy diesel I know that petrol will cost me low and I will not install CNG on my car. But people say that so old car will have a bad engine sound and it will be very slow and ennoing.

2) But if I will get a car on Gasoline than I am going to install CNG on it and the fuel will cost very, very cheap. But people say that CNG is bad for engine and it will kill the engine.

So what you think? Is it better to get 2000 year Mercedes Benz C 180,200,220 on diesel or on petrol and than install CNG (please consider that CNG will be installed by professionals)?

u cant CNG c180.. there is a problem. ask cng experts before making purchase

well i have seen a few (or probably the same, many a times) mercedes on cng. i think it can b installed but, as everyone say, it does cause problems.

I dont know about Model but i have seen a lot of Mercedez Taxi on CNG in my last month trip to Bangkok.

u cant CNG c180.. there is a problem. ask cng experts before making purchase

go with c 180 or 200 komp. Cng with lamda works perfect. I have my E 200 2004 on cng' working amazingly for 4 years. Timely oil and airfilter change thats it. Gives better pick n mileage then civic 1.8.
Have seen S 320 on cng in khi.

save money, buy some economical size Japanese or Korean car install CNG if at all necessary save spare cash for some better purpose.

Mercedes maintenance is pricey & using it on a CNG will multiply your operating cost.

carefully speaking with no offence intended if Mercedes is choice for some specific reason then have some heart use it on liquid fuel.

ok, thank, it means I must choose other car. What car do you recommend for CNG and/or without CNG? I have some other options: Audi, Volkswagen, BMW or Opel. Which do you recommend under 3'000 Euro? What I need is 4 door sedan or hatchback with left side steering wheel.

what is daily average commute you plan in your €3000 budget car

In my country CNG is very cheap, it will cost me twice more cheaper than petrol and what about a car, I am looking for the car from this website : Auto Scout24 Used car & new car classifieds

so what about volkswagen golf or passat, audi a3 or a4, bmw 3 series? forget about opel it is very UNrealiable.

The liquid fuel Petrol aka Benzine & Diesel. LPG & CNG in abundance, very rightly said

In 3 days stay only 1 day i used a taxi which was a Opel running on Benzine & LPG.

the people I met used Audi & Range Rovers in Diesel,

The factory i visited parking lot was full of Volkswagon & Renaults . In mall parking I saw in plenty of Opel, Peugeot as well. Means the car VW is economical on maintenance & convenient to sale / purchase. Between Audi & VW, I'd recommend a VW which fits in your budget. wow, it is so wonderful that you know my country , as you mentioned we have a lot of audi, opel, vw. but for my case what do you recommend:

1) 2000 year audi a3 on diesel http://www.autoscout24.eu/Details.aspx?id=212481440 (will this engine be ennoying?)

I know I became annoying but what do you think is the best car from this? main factors are reliability and fuel economy. sorry again if I became annoying.

CNG will reduce acceleration and top speed of ur car. but if installed with lambda it will not cause any problem. it will run smooth and save a lot of money as well.
NO PROBLEM AT ALL SWITCHING W202 ON CNG.

Here in Pakistan we are mostly champion of CNG with Corolla, Civic, Suzuki only.

People here do not have experience of German cars, so you will not find people sharing experience of German cars here.

People who have German cars in Pakistan are super rich and they don't care about CNG or Gasoline

so, right now I have to choose:

1) car on CNG with Lambda
pros: it is very, very cheap. Less ennoying sound (I think so)
cons: Little space in boot, needs extra money to install, not very good for engine

2) car on Diesel:
pros: It is cheap, no need of installing CNG so bigger space in boot and that money I can add for buying a better car.
cons: Diesel engines sometimes are ennoying and slow.

so which one do you choose?

personally if i have to choose between diesel and CNG i will always choose diesel. u can also get a BMW 520d. its extremely economical.

If you want to CNG it, Then sorry. there is no need to buy a Mercedes Benz C Class. It will destroy the car's engine. Go for a Corolla or City M/T.

the best option for you would be a pre 2002 Toyota/Honda

i mean any car u like before the VVT-i engines came in..... although ppl run them on CNG as well but there are issues related with them

any corolla/camry/yaris/starlet and even celica's would do your job just fine
in honda's........ any SOHC, non VTEC would be ideal..... e.g...... pre 2002 CITY & CIVIC and even accords upto 98 would be excellent on CNG

for a mercedes on CNG........ i think your own head would be involved in its performance setting which is a pain for sure........ the japs would be excellent
