In recent months the CNG cylinder related accidents especially the Cylinder blasts itself have increased. Today another accident took 6 lives.. There might be many accidents which even dont make to main stream media.Dunya News: Pakistan:-Lahore: 6 killed in van cylinder explosion ...Public transportation is installed with low quality cylinders and I don't know if there is any inspection authority looking in this matter. I think its not only owners responsibility but also the responsibility of pump owners to make sure these cylinders are at per specification. Ok CNG is a cheap source (might be) but life is precious then anything. some good reads:www.ngvglobal.com/investigation-of-cng-vehicle-accidents-in-pakistan-reveal-actual-causes-0119www.ngvglobal.com/keeping-up-the-good-safety-record-of-cng-cylinders-0803
Last year saw a CNG blast on Islamabad Express way (in a VAN) just after Koral chowk, but that incident was never reported, so yes many such incidents are never reported.
media has to promote more "significant" issuesif you know what i mean
the blast was due to LPG cylinder which on refilling caught fire by a cigerette.
whatever, LPG, CNG in the end poor soul dies..
Seriously dude! We have no maintenance ensuring standards here.. but again what do we have except the-one-who-cannot-be-named! Yuck!
Now that there have been many incidents of CNG cylinder blasts, at least some safety regulations should be formed. But this is long live Pakistan.Allah hum sab per reham karay.
