CNG related problems

I have installed Cng kit in my City Steermatic 2 days ago after running on petrol for about 20k.
Its working just fine but the only setback is that when its converted to cng after starting on petrol the engine mulfunction lamp lit up after 1 km.
what could be the reason?is it Normal?

Sir jeee i have ALTO 2007 VXR cng of 55kg cylinder...sir jee my problem is off fuel consumption..i mean to say that i fill my full tank in 280rupees n car get 110 to 115km wid 25% a/c....how can i get better mileage like other alto touched 130 km wid full a/c IN CITY....

3 times i note this average.....n i change the petrol pumps but no difference in milegae..n car fully STOCK wid no rims ..n my average speed is 40 to 60kmph in 4 n 5 gear...so can u hellp me

@ farhasna , thats y i was asking from him and if one is shifting the gears underspeed so the fuel consumption wud b higher.

i switch 5gear at 60kmph yaaa on CNG n car isnt knocking....

nadeeem ...if i shift 5th gear at 60speed it means INCREASE in fuel consumption ?

PAKSUZUKI site says that drive your car at higher gear for fuel economy datz y em driving at higher gear wid average speed ...

• Accelerate slowly and smoothly. Avoid jack – rabbit starts and unnecessary sudden acceleration or braking. Get into high gear as soon as possible.

bro i am having a problem with my 1.3 lancer on cng. when i fill up the gas i check the pressure on the pressure meter and then after 24hrs (with the car on a standstill) when i recheck it,, the needle had dropped ,,, making a loss of more than 10% of the gas.

this needle dropping dosent happen when the pressure goes below 2000,,, i hv taken my car to the mechanic to check for any leaks but there were no leaks found.

bro wat cud be the problem????

Is there any thing which can increase the pickup of City? i have driven its first 10K KM on petrol and now changed to CNG.... its otherwise fine on CNG doing 190~200 Km/60 kg cylinder on highways and 150-160Km/cylinder in city...but i never liked its acceleration not even on petrol.... is it common with all cities or mine is a problem....

Saw this thread today and let me add that you deserve a pat on shoulders.
well i have a city idsi on cng with 55kilo cylinder and is doing around 100 kms on tank full locally with half of the time with ac. got plugs/air filter changed, serviced the kit and cylinder for oil, and tuned the car, but its still the same. i am in Rawalpindi, can you recommend someone to fix this issue in twin cities???

nothing to be worried about, actually wen u fill up gas, its pressure is different at a certain temprature, and wen tht temprature varies, pressure also varies, its not a problem but a fact. and 2ndly it is also possible tht they (cng station) maintain the pressure by air pressure.. this case is an issue, change the station and check the results then

salaaamz fyq i was having problem with my nissan march 2002 .....back fire problem aur gaadi ki cng ki setting automatically khraab ho jaati thi whenever i used to get it filled from cng station so last week i replaced the complete kit .....performance improved and yesterday i got my advancer replaced ..i installed the PVR 5th generation advance corrector for electrical accelerator vehicle and he has attached it with MAF sensor not with TPS ...so now the performance is excellent i am not exagarrating but even better than petrol...but kabhi kabhi backfire ho jaata hai and most of the times its with A.C "ON"...so plz tell me the cause or soloutiion i am really disturbed...

it is correct that running in higher gears may be good for fuel , BUT thn y not one could take start from zero (stand still car) in 3rd or 4th gear to save fuel ?

changing to 5th gear in 60 km/hr speed is not good , it will consume more fuel , try it yourself.

because u need to push more accelerator pedal , more push means more fuel ! OK ?

@ nadeeem : thanks for explaining .................datz y i m asking before that tell me your PREFECT GEAR SHIFTING for fuel economy.....can u suggest me a CNG TUNNNING shop coz last time i went to KDA ( NAZIMABAD chowrangi ) for tunning.
