CNG - Worth it or Messing up your engine?

cng=20% power/acceleration loss compared to petrol.

lpg=3-5% power/acceleration loss compared to petrol. Not a noticeable differnce.
LPG=Smaller tank compared to lpg cylinder.

I'm suprised why Pakistan do not market lpg cars.

In uk dual fuel cars are decent sellers.

jo bhi hai yaar... pakistani logo ko bas kisi aik kam par lagga du aur woh sastay wala hu. beshak gari ka satyanas ho jaye... i mean jab cng nehi thi tab kya log cars nehi rakhtay thay.... jo banda 10lakh ki car rakh sakta hai woh petrol bhi dilwa sakta hai meray bhai... keo car kay engine kay dushman ban jatay ho thori se bachat kay lye?

CNG is quite safe but then if ones luck runs out, even petrol is unsafe. Mostly the cylinders imported in Pakistan are used. Therefore, they should be tested at the HDIP's facility before installation. They should be seamless (no Joins) as they are manufactured from a single sheet and rust free from inside. An ultrasound kind of test reveals any rust, thinning of sheet etc. They are manufactured to withstand (a 55kg cylinder for example) a pressure of 5000lbs psi but when filled, they are filled to a capacity far below this limit. The newer electronic CNG kits are very efficient therefore, no issue of pick-up and one press switch-over to CNG from petrol or vice-versa. And then there is a safety valve, which releases the pressure in case of a collision (don't know about Suzuki's or Santro's).

And messing up is when a Diesel engine is installed in a petrol car and NOT when a CNG kit is installed.

few points wid the permission of experts. corect me if im wrong

1) how many of u have hurd that CNG clynder exploded in an accident.. pak is the 2nd largest country for CNG running cars... clynder is made like a bulb with no joints and thick of steel

2) gas have low compression rate.. high compression rate can cause some prob for engien. carb gets faulty in most cases of CNG not engien.

3) its GREEN so better for ur kids,family and nation as u dont have to pay other for it

4) hydro carbon doping is for us so use it...

if u get an original cng kit nd QC passed clinder.theres nothing to worry.believe me.but ppl,just to save sum money,put the cylinders which are used in household cooking in the cars' trunk for using as cng containers.those are deadly.very dangerous.f u dnt do this,cng isnt harmful.the cylinder is very very hard nd wont blast of until hit ny sum really really massive thing like a high speed truck or a train frm the back.but yeah,1 thing is ossible that the cng leaks in accident nd can cause fire,but petrol can too...!!!

the 2nd thing is,engine life.cng DOES NOT hav bad effects on the engine of a car until u maintain it properly.3 things are needed.

1) regular oil changes(more frequently then use of petrol)

2)frequent cleaning of airfilter(lets say 2k kms nd changing it every 10k kms)

3) changing plugs every 15k kms at max.

u keep these things going nice,it wont do anything to the engine.trust me...
