Color Code/Paint Avaiability Help Required (Toyota's Salsa Red Pearl 3Q3)

Hi Guys, I need this paint Salsa Red Pearl (3Q3) that mostly came on Toyota vehicles. I had located quite some vendors but none is Pakistan so far. Could you guys help me getting this paint by suggesting where to go etc? Would Toyota Dealership be of any help?

The paint can be made very easily due to the software these paint shops have,

i have the 8b6 pearl (electric) blue in my Vitz i needed some touching paint for minor scratches on the bumpers etc, the guy made it for me, but for making a color theres a minimum quatily, half quater or some thing like that, costed me around Rs.250 (standox i guess was the brand name)

But common colors i.e the ones avalible in local cars are readily avalible with them, i bot Rs.50 paint for my Baleno (cool beidge (Za4)) that was very little in quantiy. But did the job as the paint gets dried after some time.

You dont need a toyota dealer ship specificly, any paint shop (car paint shop) can help you, you can contact your denter/painter that where do they get the paint made. or from where do they buy there paints. That guys your best option

Well, whereas the paint job is concerned, I would want to be gracious to avoid any desi 'jugaarr' because following exactly is the finish I would want after spending money:

You could be right and satisfied with above suggested way too, I so respect you for stepping up to help me out, bro! But to tell the truth, most paint mixer guys make for you 'almost that' color for your car. Human error is not to be ignored, even a quarter teaspoon excess of thinner can ruin the entire shade, and then, the painter would say; "oh sir jee same hi hai, abhi dhuup hai, is liye shade aa raha hai, abhi chhaao'n hai, abhi angular..." and the crap goes on! Javed & Baau at Lahore, of course are exceptions, totally out of this world, no doubt but even they ask you to bring the paint along! I do not allow this fraudulent sector of 'skilled' auto-guys cheat me on cost of my hard-earned money, let alone me, no body would, right? That's only why I would want to go for the entire formula- with a perfectionist approach- as per the manufacturer. We, of course, would need to know the base coating & colors as well as the quality and quantity finishing lacquer.

So, as I myself take the finishing jobs seriously and for I have spent almost a million PKR on a 1973 classy JDM coupé, I just wanted to bother a bit more just to achieve my point of satisfaction with a little homework prior to action plans.

Please do not feel offended in anyway for this my friend, would never be my intention. Above is just, my point of view. And for I live in my body and inside my stubborn brain, I have to take the route to my own point of satisfaction, idiotically:D

yeah i know about your project and i cud figure it was for ur project car. despretly looking forward for its completion.

it was just that i came to know due to these softwares all colors are posible you just need to know the paint color code and company name in your car Toyota 3Q3.

So you can try Javed denter as well that you are looking for this color, obviusly he would also out source the paint as im sure Javed denter doesnt makes colors

EDIT: Your best bet is to goto a scrap yard (kabari market) search for a side mirror or the fuel door of the color ure looking for, get the paint made from the color code, then get the light/dark fixtures, proper matching, and then go for the cars paint job

Proper standox outlets can mix a good paint for you, I got my Greek White Honda from them, VW Tornado Red, old MB Battleship gray, MB Dunkelblau and regular Toyota white all were absolfreakinlutely fabulous - But they cost good money.

I also had them mix me a batch of Imola Ice, which I got for a freinds Fiat Uno

The shop I use is in DHA phase 2 Amin Paints and finishes.

yes it is the guy behind caltex - you need to know the car brand and colour code. he has the proper tools to mix colours by weight, you can also go to the standox website and print out the weight of the base and tints to be mixed. It will also tell you what base coat, and what shade of primer to buy. (it also tells you the shade card tile number)

Thats how I got excellent paint finishes. When a car is being painted Im usually in the paint booth myself, because there are certain ways to paint a car - some parts need to be hanging - and you sometimes need odd strokes to even out the "shade" of the car. Amin himself does not paint now - but when he did he was all good business

^ yup thats the shop i goto to get touchup paints polishes etc :), he had this 3M Polish costed around Rs1300, i need to get one of thoose.

And yes we need proper painters, and people to guide also, here everyones like "chalti ka naam gari"

@Chinyoti: You got it so right bro, i needed it for the same; Red Storm:) The project had been put at halt for last 4-5 months due to some financial constraints. Last week, I had put FMIC, one huge piece. Also had bought a beautiful set of FMIC piping too, 3" all the way, light-weight alloy, chrome finished with quality silicon joints and classy clamps; all branded. Got done with fitting both. Car's left with just 25% of body job to go; front fenders, hood and final touches. Fender-flairs have long been done, exactly like this blue celica in my display picture. Also, i'm putting similar front lip spoiler. Actually, this celica in my display picture has been my inspiration for Red Storm. I'll share the updates through my website too. ^ @omer, im looking forward for ur project car, if zindagi rae, Allah ne moqa deya im defintly going to go forward for 74 Celica factory spec restoration, (wid a mean 2J engine) Insha Allah

btw i googled the color code, i guess the color looks like the Wine red in the markx or the red avalible in the local Rolla... (the local rolla one looks lighter thou)

inshaAllah:) a 2jz would rock it, but go for GTE VVTi/latest gen. at least. Twin turbo/GTE versions are available for cheap and easy to tune but there's hell of a torque band difference.
Anyway, yes wine-red is quite similar but a bit lighter tone with lesser golden pearls. Salsa Red Pearl (3Q3)- click the link on my top post for live example- would suit an old-school better. The new corolla one looks like simple metallic red/cool red; a bit non-hotrodish.
By the way, i've got a friend selling a TA22 if you'd want one. Blue Devil's already given to a dear friend;)
