There are many routes available to this enchanting place.Most popular is from islamabad towards Kahuta/azadpattan and through rawalakot.
Islamabad to kahuta about 35 kms
Kahuta to azad pattan about 30 kms
Azad pattan to rawalakot about 35 km
Rawalakot to Banjosa Lake about 20 km
Total from islamabad to banjosa is about 120kms.

Before leaving make sure for some ready to eat food with you as food is the major issue which is substandard at lake and surroundings.
so we took some Freshmate packs with us as advised by other pw'er/brothers.
So first picture is taken with cell phone,pardon for picture quality.

To stay the very best scenic option is the PWD rest houses which are four in number at the bank of lake and the most attractive is the one in picture and comes first too.
For booking PWD rest houses one has to get permit from PWD head quarter Muzaffarabad,can also be contacted at their branch in Rawalakot city through telephone 05824920146.
Other source is the care taker of this very rest house named shafiq 03335704692.

This rest house consists of two double bedrooms with attached bath,a big lobby and a kitchen.Hot water is available in this hut.Rent of this hut/rest house is 3000 pkr per night which is constant through out the year.

among other three the second one is not well maintained and unfortunately we had the only one left to stay,hot water is not available and rent of the hut with two double bed rooms is 2000 pkr.Its location just few meters than the first one behind trees but a major portion of lake is visible through its lobby.
