Is it safe to buy an Altis 1.8 Cruisetronic 2010 having 150,000 km mileage. I wonder what Common Problems are with Altis 1.8 Cruisetronic 2010. What about the same version with previous generation i.e. 2007. Thanks.

Are you concern about the Engine or Transmission? 150,000 km in 15 years mean 850 km per month or 28 km per day.

These 1.8 engines have very high fuel consumption and in Corollas 2005 to 2008 they tend to burn engine oil too.

I'm not sure if the problem was fixed in Pakistan assembled cars or not. But eventually they changed the engine to 1.6 in 2011+ cars.

The car has a very common steering rack problem which goes bad in almost all cars. Another issue which u might face is spark plugs coils they can go bad as they age.

I went to see the 2007 model and it's engine was in very bad shape. Slug was in coolant.
What about Toyota MARK II; is it easy to maintain that car? I am more concern with maintenance part availability NOT body parts.

If maintaining a Corolla seems troublesome to you, Im sorry you cannot maintain anything, Go buy a brand new Suzuki Alto. and replace it every 3 years.

Corolla after 2008 comes with a EPS, A almost 20 year old car wont be trouble free it will need maintaince done every now and then.

Actually I had the Corolla automatic; maintenance is not the problem. My concern is with parts availability of Mark II which I never had with Corolla and every mechanic knows the car. I am asking it because Mark II seems to be a value for money as compare to other cars around 25 to 27 lacs.

Stay away from Mark II, the parts are expensive. Go for a Corolla.

Yes its safe if its maintained properly,

Firstly 150k ODO meter seemed to be reversed

2ndly i have used company Maintained Altis 1.8 Auto 2010 300K+ on odo meter and only thing needed to be repaired is its suspension, however Engine, Transmation is perfectly fine.

Toyota is very reliable indeed. At present I cannot spend more than 22 lacs. The latest model that I can get is that of Suzuki Swift 2013/14. If you have any suggestions for an automatic car, please let me know.

Toyota Engines are Built Proof, Either 1.3, 1.6 or 1.8. But in old cars bigger the better.

My colleague is driving 300k+ GLI 1.3 Manual 2010 Model and he is happy with it,

Old cars need regular maintenance, As his Steering rack was got out of order last year and he changed it to Qabili and after that his car is running fine, he is using is in Highway also, no problem fit AC etc.
