The trend for heavier bikes has just started kicking in Pakistan. While the 125cc and the 150cc segments seem to be quite competitive, with newer companies introducing 150cc bikes in addition to the Big 3(SUZUKI, Honda and Yamaha).
The 200-250cc segment still remains dominated by the three brands that have a direct official presence in the country.
While the benelli is cheaper at a price of 500,000 the big two Honda and SUZUKI offer in a similar range of 600-680k. This is not a popular range for a majority of the buyers and so growth is relatively slow in this segment, than what it would have been if all the products were in the 400-450k range. Buying in the 200cc segment remains a long term choice for the ordinary enthusiasts like myself.
What I would like to know from PakWheelers is that if one does go for either these bike choices, how would it turn out in the longer haul, I mean what would it means for routine maintenance part availability in 5-7 years time. Which one of the manufacturers is unlikely to discontinue parts, and which ones would be relatively easier to import regardless of the price in the longer run, among these three choices. Which choice might hurt the buyer with after sales support and parts availability 5 years down the road. Please enlighten with your views.
