Compound polish vs Wax?

On car surfaces which develop scratches over a period of time, or the colors lose their shine, both Compound and Wax are options... but compound price/labour is 8-10 times higher than Wax... what is the reason?

One restores the other protects. Think of the compund polish as a "exfoliate" for paint.
Resins in the "compound" paste grind the surface and make it more uniform against its surroundings. Wax puts up a protective layer on the paint and protects it from the elements.

compound is good but......too much compound can damage the paint....compound is strong....maybe twice a year would be fine...otherwise try using wax or polish more often!!

as FLi_GTi said compound grinds the layers of the paint.......so too much grinding would cause the pint to fade!!

Aoa. Anyone having an experience with "Scratch Out".. the new compound type thing in the market?? Moreover, bros.. there is a korean hard wax polish available from montgomery road.. named something like "BAOTIDE" its really GOOD! applying is easy.. and repels water and dust like anything.. at least for two weeks!! costs just about 170 Rs. Hey! I just wanted to know that can compound polish remove a slight scratch on a car!

Cuz my dog scratched my SE SALOONS hood but the scratch aint that deep , so can compound polish fix that?

well being into paint business i can say that these guyz r right compound can remove scratch but the minor ones not those which r deep.but at the same time much of compound can be harmful for colour as it will damage the colour.yes kiani1 if the scratch arent that deep then it will definitly remove it by the way use our compound anyhow have fun guyz.
