Compression Test result of my Xli 2010

Salam all pws. I have a corolla xli 2010 with 115k mileage on odo. I purchased it last year since then i chnged engine oil thrice. First two times used shell 10 40 but noticed 500 ml reduction after 3500 to 4000 km . Thn i shifted to 20 50 zic in which slight reduction was also noticed. I hd a post earlier and friends suggested for compression test . One of colleague @dayrider suggested a person on khazana rd peshawar. I went there for compression test . He did it with all the cylinder readings above 180 on dry compression . And i was told that there is no issue. Engine is healthy. Just switch to proficar 10 40. On the day after i again checked from another mechanic just to clear my mond and the result astonished me . The reading was 125 at all four cylinders and said ur engine is weak. Now i m confused that there is a big difference between both the tests. Now suugestion are sought from pws plz that what should i do now.

Dabstermotorsports is quite a compatible workshop, it deals with all sorts of high end cars, so they do this regularly, not sure where you went next mate. But if your car had 125 compression, there would be something wrong with it, like smoke, loss in power, more fuel consumption. Something.

If there is no smoke and car is accelerating without a problem and there are no air bubbles in the radiator overflow bottle then your engine is fine. Suggest monitor the oil and coolant levels and keep driving.

Brother I think it may be considered as normal. Not a big issue, but how did you measure 500 ml?

Dipstick I believe, only shows oil level, and may not quantify it precisely.

I would say, either stick to Proficar 10w-40 i.e. 10w-40, and if you would like to switch brand; ZIC 10w-40 is also excellent oil.

You can even directly online from their official website: http://zicoil.pk/product/zic-x7-10w-40-vhvi-tech/ and oil would be guaranteed to be 100% genuine and original.

Many members will have different suggestions / experiences. I have been using ZIC lubricants by at least 02 years, and my experience was excellent. Condition was; oil was 100% genuine and original!

Are you worried about difference in readings? Or oil consumption?

If readings, do not worry, as I believe, first and original readings matter more. You went to the garage on the recommendations of one of the senior members here, so readings and garage, dono ki guarantee hai k wo theek hain! Don't worry.

Regarding oil consumption, I believe it to be normal.

And if engine is weak, then there are many other symptoms for a weak engine, like high fuel consumption, smoke from the exhaust, massive drop in engine oil level and engine pick, power and performance.

If you are not experiencing any such things, then engine health is fine IMO.

Yeah bro he seemed to me a a really technical person and deals almost with sports car. This time i poured proficar 10 40. Pick of tbe car improved too much . Lets see what happens next.

There is no such issue. It give round 12 13 in city and upto 16 or 15 on long. No blue smoke observed. No missing. No oil seen in radiator water. No black like grease in silencer. Rest every thng is ok .

500 ml was noticed while changing oil at shell petrol pump . Then extract the oil through suction and goes to the tank that has guage on it upto 4 5 or 6 liters . Frim there i noticed

Um worried about both. Second time i gone for compression test to a garage 36 on ring rd. I also told them that i had the test yesterday and tbe reading was 180 +. They told the guage doesnt lie. Then one other person came and told that compression of brand new car is almost 160 to 170 thn how ur car which is driven almost 10 years give 180 +. Lets see what happens with this proficar 10 40 . So far i m with profi 10 40 pick too much improved

I told to mechanic in garage 36 that there is no issue with pick then he said the pick impreoves as it cobsumes engine oil. Is there any relation of engine oil consumption with improved pick??

I think not, rather pick should decrease with oil consumption.

OK. But also keep in mind, that all mechanics / ustaads cannot be trusted.

Just drive and enjoy. Keep an eye on the cooling system and you should be OK.

Wonder what he will say when he sees 200 compression
An overhauled vehicle attains 160-170 easily.
New ones do 200-210.
Thos shows how much they about things.

Try New shell HX6- 10w 40 . I am using in corolla 1.6 . 250k driven. . Its sounds great.
