Compression Tester Problem

My father gifted me this compression tester in 1983-84
due to misuse or lack of knowledge it became non functional

can any professional help me out

the gauge comes up but don't stay at any pressure
pressure release button is ok
i think the problem is with valve (like our day today tube valves)
i replaced it (regular tube valve) but it did not worked

please help about this problem

check the pressure releif valve - it maybe leaking - the one below the gauge itself

i would advice you to show the gadget to any good mechanic i am sure he will definitely help you with your problem.

basic,

I know it must have some emotional attachment to it. But i would suggest you buy a new one.
It will cost between 700 to 2000 Rs depending on the brand.

isnt that quick release fitting supposed to have an O ring in it??

Get the display unit checked by any instrument technician,because there is a spring installed inside the gauge it might lost its retaining power causing for this problem.
