Tried it. It produces no effect. No need to waste your effort on this.
Now i am strictly against rechroming it as well. The thing which took me time to understand, is that exhaust needs to "do its job" .... of pushing out the gases needed to be pushed out of engine. "Sound" (i.e. exhaust note) is secondary.
There is a "Jaali" at inside of rear end, of your exhaust which become damaged/cluttered after rechroming, because they (people doing the rechrome) dip it in acidic material to clean it out. Ultimately, this negatively affect bike's performance and bike doesn't breath properly. Yea it'll settle down eventually after a few kilometers, but you'll have to REALLY push the bike to get the exhuast hot enough, to be able to 'clear out' the "Jaalis".
