Condition of Karachi - Hyderabad Super-highway?

We are planning a trip to Abbottabad this Eid-ul-Azha. I have heard a lot about the multiple diversions on the super-highway. How much time will it take to reach Hyderabad nowadays?

Yes there are multiple diversions so for now it takes 2.5 hours from Khi-hyd as it is bit rough and more diversions, and 2 from hyd-khi as it's a bit better and less diversions.

how is the condition of national highway is it better then super highway these days ?

I got different opinions. Some even said it might take 4 hours !!
Actually our plan is to reach RHK and we can't leave before 10am
Super highways' current condition will make this difficult for us.

I wanted to ask the same question.
I frequently go to gharo which is hardly 70 kms. It takes me 1.5 hrs to reach there !!
Reasons are traffic and the road conditions. Road is not good. 60% it's a two way traffic road.

Not sure if it is wiser to choose national highway...

Totally depends on traffic at the time. You won't be able to travel at more than 90kmph, IMO. There are total 2 diversions of around 2/4 kilometers where you won't be able to drive at more than 10/12 kmph (its not a road).

To give you an idea, I left Karachi at 06:30am and reach Zahir Pir at 06:30pm (including tea and lunch break).

While going to Hyderabad it took us 2 hours 20 minutes to get there. While coming back to karachi, 1 hour 30 minutes. The road is great apart from the diversions, but they aren't that long.

It also depends when u leave Karachi. If you plan to leave around midnight, then don't.. there is long queue of trucks and trallers at super highway. You might end up waiting 30 -45 mins just to enter toll plaza. But I have noticed from past experiences that during Eid days.. highway is totally free from heavy traffic and it is a treat to drive.

700 kms in 12 hrs with tea and lunch is good
Its means hyd khi wont take too long
