Confused b/w Grande 1.8 bs Altis 1.6 special edition

Hi everyone,

My budget for buying a brand new car is 3m and I'll be leasing the additional amount.

Now the issue is, I'm more inclined towards getting the fully loaded Grande but Altis 1.6 special edition seems really good to me.

I have few concerns and I want experienced/knowledgeable people to assist my purchase decision.

Concerns:
1. As per the news, 12th gen corolla will be launched in 2022 and the 11th gen which I want to buy will get outdated and I believe the amount of grande/altis 11th gen is at its peak and it won't go any higher. I'm a keeper and I'll keep the car for quite some time but your comments on 11th gen getting outdated will really assist me.

1. Upon the arrival of 12th gen, prices will get higher definitely and I'm going above my budget right now. So, do you think I'm making the right decision of getting a 11th gen corolla in 2022?

2. Altis 1.6 has 4 speed super ect transmission whereas grande is 7 speed cvt, But the reviews for fuel average indicate that 1.6 has better fuel average than 1.8. What do you think?

3. About car financing, if you could recommend a bank/banker from Lahore who really helps in the entire process would be really helpful for me since I'm buying my first car.

As I replied in the other thread:

1.6 SE is far below Grande's drive. That 1.8 CVT is just so much better.

No cruise control in 1.6 either.

You get foldable rear seats in Grande so can extend the trunk by a huge margin.

Not even retractable mirrors in 1.6.

All major differences and go in favor of Grande. You'll enjoy its ride for sure.

It's the opposite.

1.8 CVT gives slightly better fuel economy.

12th Gen is still a speculation. Even if you start hearing rumors in mid to late 2022 it likely won't land in your hands till 2023.

Previous Gen cars never lose value in Pakistan lol. New Gen will be much more expensive, yours might even appreciate in value.

Get what you can buy right now. Don't wait in hopes of something still imaginary.

If you're keeping your car for a long time then best get the top trim Corolla. It offers the most convenience and fuel economy is about the same or sometimes even better in the 1.8 litre trim because of its CVT.

I just share my experience on similar thread, for your points,

1- In Pakistan, Vehicle never lose value, it at least maintain it's value (from currency depreciation PoV) and many times appreciate, If you need car now buy something best in your available budget, with rising taxes and dollar appreciation going to hit even harder in future.

2- I have kept grande and these days have a 1.6 X, Grande have for sure better fuel economy on highway, in city both have similar fuel average. In my experience 1.6 never returned better economy than grande in city.

3- Never used bank finanicing, but some of my friends had a good experience with Meezan & Bank Islami

If you want to keep car for 5 years, go for Corolla top trim (Grande) eyes closed, If you are planning to move to 12 gen when it arrive, then 1.6 X for better & quick resale - Special Edition is over hyped and doesn't worth the price

new generation when launched is going to be atleast a million more than current price tag. just wait and we will see new generation corolla and civic for 60+ lac

Elantra if you have spare cash to experiment on new toys that might have higher parts cost. n don't care about resale.

Sir I just drove Elantra once, Drive was good, Elantra sale is slowly picking up and on road presence is also increased. I believe the main reason people choose Elantra as it's something different, looks different. Definitely not a bad choice and it has already proved it's reliability in different markets around the world.

If you want to play safe, go for grande, Elantra is good choice without any doubt but does require a bold decision specially if it's your only car.
