Does the diesel engine require more maintainance other than 2500km oil change?
Also confused abt 2700 or 2800 sigma.
Ive heard 2700 is underpower.

It doesn’t require 2500km oil change intervals unless you’re mixing sewage with the oil lol

Stick to 5000km and let the oil do it’s job of cleaning then protecting.

international standards are 15,000km's for oil change on this engine. and local dealers asking 2500km's/ absurd difference

The manual states an OCI of 10k km...it’s 5k km in “severe” conditions or where fuel is over 3500ppm sulfur (our fuel is at most 500ppm). Considering Karachi’s dust, I’d say 5-7.5k km is reasonable. So yes, the dealerships are bilking people that don’t know better.

From experience, bought a latest fortune in petrol and went to village,it was without a doubt one of the worst suv I drove , cam back and traded for a diesels had to pay own as well ,but it’s almost 4 months and already had 15k miles on it as my dad drives it a lot to village , and yet we have face any problem so far , go for the deiseal one don’t get the shitty petrol one and don’t get a Prado , zero meter is zero meter .

2700 petrol engine in any Toyota SUV is Turtle slow, had 1 Prado in 2012 and it was a serious test case for me driving a vehicle with struggling engine when reved engine noise was pain,

my better half happily traded it with me at half the price, SAFE to drive big and high

i gratefully retruned to 1800 petrol Premio.

after experiencing diesel & petrol motor vehicles in my opinion petrol motor SUV shall be min 3000 or above, diesel motor SUV be 2400 or above

I just booked a Fortuner 4x2 variant after a lot of thinking about its functionality and my lifestyle. I am a city person so would not be driving off-road so a 4x 4 was no use to me. Secondly, Diesel is getting more expensive day by day and the maintenance cost of a Diesel Engine is much higher than a Petrol engine. Diesel had more torque and better consumption if driving long distances or highways. Which again its no use for for me. So if you would be driving only in the city then just go for 4x2 G model. The led lights and other luxuries can always be installed.

diesel has MORE TORQUE and muscle then a petrol variant.
