Confused on purchase of petrol or diesel Fortuner

Any suggestions on what is the better option. Going for petrol 4x2 vs the 4x4 Fortuner.
What are the benifits of owning one vs the other, fuel economy, service and maintenance etc...

What is the future of diesel cars in Pakistan, this is also a major question in my mind.

Get 4x4 diesel eyes closed. Don’t fall for 4x2 as of what use it would be without 4x4. Also it is missing some features like powered tail gate, traction control etc.
If I were in your place I would have gone for the 2.7L petrol 4x4 without push start one. However if money is not an issue by all means go for the diesel variant with all the bells and whistles.
Infact we recently bought that 2.7L 4x4 2000 km driven for 58.

Diesel is diesel. And SUV belongs to diesel . go for diesel which will good for you in terms of offroading too.

If you want 4x4, than why not a freshly import prado 2.7 petrol in the same range?

Fresh import 2012 prado costs much more. A good one will cost me upwards of 7.5 million.

I know that is a good option but cant spend that much.
And zero meter is what im going for.

2.7L Prado is like gli auto 1.3L engine is just there to pull it forget any performance from it

Go for diesel 4x4 and if not than don't spend this much on patrol 4x2, instead buy a BRV it will do the job a lot better in every aspect.

The fortuner also has the same engine. So same performance as the Prado.

Is the diesel engine easy as far as maintenance is concerned?
I have a 2005 2.0d saloon. Have gotten its engine rebuilt 3 times already.
Verymuch concerned about that!!

Weight sir weight you can't throw a corolla engine in a crown and expect both to performance equal

Thinking of the petrol variant. Diesel engines can be cumbersome i think....

Comparing br-V with Fortuner is like comparing Mehran and Corolla Br-V is mpv and Fortuner is SuV....comparing 6 million Suv with 2.2 Million Van

@atta6082 brother i am planning to buy one but the thing forcing me to change my plan is the issue of diesel quality in Pakistan and its maintenance as compared to 2.7. Can u pls share your review of experience so far and if I buy one, how do i need to take care of that turbo diesel engine?

Previous diesel engines were D4D. Now the Revo and new fortuner have 1gd-ftv diesel engine. It is totally ok for pakistani diesel so for the diesel variant. You will love it.

What I have experienced is good pumps have good diesel and good Petrol. Bad pumps and both of the same stuff. I have drove around more than 6500 Kms and traveled from Peshawar to khunjarab pass to lahore and well I haven’t felt any problems with diesel any where. It’s very powerful and responsive. All in all I am not disappointed except just one thing Toyota wants to change oil after 2500kms,, as they were saying it’s a turbo variant. Consider your needs and then decide.
