Bro can u plz tell me the name of that appropriate software bcz im unable to connect my audio HDD with my laptop. I have this port in my laptop but when i connect it with my laptop (using firewire to firewire cable), my laptop doesn't even detect it

Bro this cable is easily available in any computer accessories shop. Ask the shop keeper for FireWire cable.

usually these decks and hard drives in them a proprietary encryption software to secure data. these software usually come with the player and on some occasions is available on the company website as well. try there...

the only solution is to locate the part number of the stereo / DVD and then ordering the compatible cable, this doesnt look like a USB connector cable. It may be a a connector for accessing / editing the EEPROM though.

any luck?
i have found the cable this is called firewire IEEE 1394 4 pin to usb a cable. normally this is also called DSLR or camera cable.
however when i connect this with my laptop it s not detected

fire wire donot need any dedicated software. its raw form data transfer. i use studio 8 software for transfering video from jvc camera to pc. as i remember i did get icon of external hd in MY Computer
you can only update map memory of device using firewire cable .its not for audio or video memory.
everyone trying to access that port for audio reasons are wasting time.
