Good evening everyone, hope you are all staying safe in these hard times. I really need some help and guidance regarding an issue I am facing since an year now. So let me share the details below.
I applied for IELTS Academic Test (British Council) in June 2020 and Got the test date for July 2020, and my test was cancelled that month by British Council, I was given option to choose a new test date in August 2020 which I did choose. Surprisingly they cancelled my the test every passing month means the August test was cancelled and I was given September choice, then October and finally November.
Now the issue is by this time it was already late as I had got a conditional offer letter from UK university but it was too late as the session began.
I applied for refund on 27th September and they claimed to refund it within 4 weeks. its been 25 weeks now and in between I have emailed them so many times, They have even asked for my bank statement 2 times which I provided the latest email I got now is again asking me to wait for 3 weeks.
I have been extremely agitated by this and so want to take action against this, I paid them Rs 30000 in June 2020 and now presently their test prices have increased too and so has the value of 30000 decreased.
Do you think I can take action against them in consumer court? will it be worth it? I want to sue them for the tension and damage they have caused to me both academically and mentally. I do not know the procedure or anything please do help me. and let me know if it is a good idea and no issues will be created for me in future.
