Tires Upgrade thread for new GM6 City Aspire 1.5 CVT 2022 and beyond

I seek your guidance and welcome your input regarding a tire upgrade for the new City Aspire 1.5.

I have noticed that some YouTubers are opting for an upgrade to 195/65/15 tires and claiming that it does not affect ride height or fuel economy. I'm curious if this claim holds true in our context. Has anyone in our community already made this upgrade?

Personally, I've decided to go with the 185/65/15 size as the stock 175/65/15 Euro Stars not only appear too thin but also generate a significant amount of noise.

I would greatly appreciate expert opinions, particularly on the brands you have chosen and your experiences (in terms of grip, ride height and fuel economy) with them.

While Continental CC6 and Yokohama ES32 are popular recommendations, I would also like to explore cost-effective alternatives. Please share your insights.

What is the width of your rims? 195 are recommended when rims are atleast 6 inches wide

Current user of yokohama es32 185/65. Very satisfied practically noiseless and very high comfort. Has very high reviews internationally also.

Not sure of current pricing as i got mine in nov last year.

If you are going to get Yokohama, consider Blueearth GT AE51. It is better than ES32.
195/65 not recommended, 195/65 is just fine.

Sorry, I meant 185/65. 195/60 is difficult to find and even more difficult to handle if one or two need replacement during the set’s life.

Michelin Primacy 4 - the best option if you can find a fresh non smuggled set.

Although, for regular city driving BG Thundermax is also not a bad option considering the price difference of around 10-15K a tyre.

Thanks. I am also more inclined towards 185/65/15 but do you have any idea if it will raise the car height further?

I shifted to Yokohama Advan Db 185/65r15 on the day of purchase. Its a spare car hardly used, I have driven it upto islamabad from karachi it is mostly garaged.

with the raised height 175 looks very thin, 185 stabilizes the car, the car performed well, the 65 in the tire size is percentage of width

i.e 175/55 means = 0.31
and 185/65 means = 0.35

So yes the side wall increases raising the car height slightly (unnoticable though) the ideal size is 195/60 but that size is hard to find and a replacement tire in case of a accident would be a pain.

AdvanDBs are the most silent tires i have driven, Even Corollas Yokohama 460 are more nosiy, But on the other hand Advan Dbs are more prone to puntures.

Yoko Advan Dbs have a number as well e.g. v551 and v552. V551 are harder while v552 are softer. I have experience with both on my Altis. V551 also have more road noise.

552 is an extention to 551,

551 was discontinued for 552, These are 552

i had 551s in my fathers 2011 Gli, They performed well, Replaced them BLUE EARTH GT

ES32 is very inferior. CC6 is excellent and competes advan Db ins drive and comfort. AE51 is good ES32 is bekar

How so.. I have had very good experience with these with 25k kms in 2.5 years it has zero punctures holds air very well wet grip is unbelievable and dealt with under construction roads skt-wzd and gt-rd with 3-4 heavy weight ppl on board.. I'm using 195 in the previous gen.

It's used a 4th car. No calculations, got around 15/16 kmpl on my trip from karachi to islamabad and back

Meter shows 8/9 kmpl

Comfort increased with these tires? As with current stock tires i feel the khadas pot holes etc will break apart the car.

City is made like that. If you have been driving a Suzuki or a Toyota before this City or if this is your first City, it hurts even much more.

City's are stiff, every pot hole / khadda feels very bad.

The car is more stable and advan dbs are soundless.

We have a old Generation 2018 City in family. It felt okay with 175s, But the new one with raised height feels out of hands on sharp corners on 175, also 185 adds to the looks of the car.

Changed older city's tires to 185s aswell since it's height is so low, the rear mud flaps dragged every speed breaker/pot hole

Yes its my first city rather first honda.
Coming from corolla. Earlier had besn driving vitz, corolla, vigo and suzukiz.

Your post made me feel relaxed as I thought there is some problem with my car suspension. So what are your thoughts on 195 65 15. Will they look too oversized on this car and will they fit on the stock alloys? I think increasing the sidewall height will create a bit cushioning in the car suspension, no?

i am almost convinced for 185 65 15 God willing. I may go with cc6 as with advans after the honeymoon period I experienced punctures on my ex ride. Cc6 were going strong on the other ride even after 50k kms.

Yes same here, this was my first Honda too. It's geometry is different then that of a Toyota or Suzuki.

For 195s you'll only end up paying for more rubber. They might add to looks no other benefits.

This city is raised, so actually no pleasure in cornering it.
