I recently took my 2022 Suzuki Swift to Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited (Defence Motors) for a coolant flush. What did they actually do?
They drained the radiator, filled it back up and called it a day
No thermostat valve opened, no heater core bled,
no full-system flush with distilled water. Literally just emptying the radiator and reservoir to fill it up.
When questioned, I was told:
“Sir, we only open the thermostat or touch the heater core if there’s rust.”
So instead of doing preventive maintenance, they wait until corrosion shows up and components start failing. That’s not service, that’s a ticking time bomb, disguised as dealership policy. And let’s not pretend this isn’t intentional, once rust damages your heater core or radiator, you will be charged an arm and a leg for replacement parts of the entire cooling system (radiator, water pump, heater core)
To make matters worse, they mixed their new blue coolant with the existing green coolant, which I only found out after the deed had been done. Both Suzuki labeled, yes, but chemically different and not meant to be mixed. Doing so weakens corrosion protection, reduces coolant lifespan, might cause sludge build up and puts the engine at risk. There’s no excuse for this level of negligence from a certified dealership.
And then there’s the side mirror trim.
It fell off on the motorway, not from impact, not from tampering, it simply detached, likely due to poor adhesive or weak clips from the factory. When I asked for a replacement, I was told I’d have to replace the entire side mirror or source the trim myself.
For a car barely a few years old, this is embarrassing.
For a company operating nationwide, it’s unacceptable.
I’ll be closely monitoring the coolant situation from here on out and will not be flushing it properly soon even though they claimed that this is "standard practice". If it leads to any system damage, rest assured this matter will be escalated to the highest levels necessary and I would really like your advice as to where I should raise my voice.
