Hey Pakwheelers,
So today I went through what's definitely a nightmare for any driver...It's a 1.3 corolla gli 2013 model. I went to 5 Sarki Petrol pump from Adyala road to get the fuel tank filled. The AC had been ON on full thermostat as it was 41C outside today. As soon as I hit the queue in the filling station I felt a little bit of suffocation in the Cabin as if the AC wasn't working properly (unlike on my route to the pump). And then the temperature needle caught my attention which was now "slightly" over the ideal range. To be honest I was sort of panicked as I was stuck in the queue and couldn't do much. Anyway I turned the AC off and it was back to normal and didn't misbehave again ever on my way back home although the AC was on again but thermostat set at level 2 (vs 4). .
Now, I tried to diagnose the problem at home and here's what I have checked so far.
1) The coolant level was okay. Coolant was changed a week ago.
2) Turned the AC off and noticed if the fan is working on auto. Well it is. I turns on for like 30 second and not at full speed. Probably because the car was now parked in shade. If I turn on the AC the fan starts spinning at full speed.
3) Inspected the condenser and it seems to be okay, not clogged fins or anything.
4) On my way back home, I had an AC guy check the refrigerant level in the AC system and it was about 40PSI. He said the pressure is okay however the compressor is not genuine and it's Mini Pajero's compressor installed. I didn't pay much attention to it as it's cooling fine.
That's all I did so far! I just bought this car a few weeks ago and I haven't had a chance to travel long route yet. So right now I'm afraid that it may "officially" overheat on the highway if I travel on a sunny day at high speeds (although right now it tried to overheat on idle).
Please help!!!!
Thanks much!
