Corolla 1zrfe catalytic rattle issue

I have a krr krr sound soumd from my corolla 1.6 2013 model
Its not actually like a heavy rattle of something broken but it sounds more like something is loose inside
Before this happened there was a tic tic sound coming from underneath the car after parking and it ised to come after every 5 seconds till the car got cold
And this rattle appeared after i floored the car a bit til 170
From then this sound is coming

Went to the silensor guy he took off the exhaust pipe till the dholki
He then tapped the pipe from both sides and a rattle sound was coming from the secondary cat

Then after a couple of days i went to another shop he took off the cats and did his some kaarigari but the sound didn't go away
The i told him to he heat up the cat housing and press it with a hammer so maybe it gets press a bit so it gets a bit tight
But the guy again did his karigari and made approx 2 inch dents in the cat housing
So after that now the sound comes only when the car is cold
After warming up the sound vanishes

Bit i feel the car is a little bit heavy now
The trotle doesn't feel that light that it used to be

So i want to ask you fellow that should i change my catalytic converter?
Which one should i go for?
Kabuli or some new Chinese one?
Or i should leave it as it is
Engine also feels a bit louder than before and mileage is also affected a bit
So please me suggest what is the best option

i chnaged the packing in my corolla and sound vansihes. check this packing in front catalytic converter

you can see the left one is old one and right one is new one. cost me 1000 rs

show this your silencer guy. ask him to change this packing and put quality one and inshallah your issue will be solved.

Is the converter internally rattling?

Yes
Its internally rattling but the rattle is not like something is broken
Its like its loose or and something and it feels like something in there vibrates

But the rattle goes away after it warms up
It can be heard on a cold start up as well for 10 15 seconds

Bro packing is all ok got it checked too
The sound is coming from under the car secondary cat converter

the cat converter brick is sandwiched in a fireproof blanket which is pressed against the shell, Seems like it is compromised and is allowing the converter brick to rattle. Did your mechanic do an acid wash on it? or did you drive for any distance with a misfire or leaking injector or coolant leak into combustion chamber or excess oil burn?

There is no fix for this other than to replace the cat.

No didn't drive the car with any leaks
This sound occured after i floored the car hardly till 180

And yes i got it cleaned with acid maybe
They used a machine I don't know what chemical it was

So what change should i go for
People are selling brand new also of china costing 8 to 12k
Are those any good? Or should i go for kabuli?

That “machine” just shoots steam into it which doesnt do anything.

Anyway, its dead, dont install a cheap one costing 12k or less, just the precious metals in a toyota genuine cat for a small corolla are worth about 280 usd.

Find a replacement and please stay away from con artists selling “ket dholki dhulaai” its not worth anything. Also dont drive with any misfire or lean condition or use the wrong engine oil. All these minor issues kill the cat.

They mix acid in the steam water, or most probably a toilet sweep. yellow (acid), red (sweep).
Results: it will clogg again, most likely in few thousand kilometers only.

There are some who cut it open and fit metal mesh inside the cat. Is this practice good or bad?

a kabli CAT with any other color of mesh than its original is a pre-cleaned CAT, do not buy .. it will also give away soon .. original is greyish brown color .. white color or slighly clogged mesh is not to be purchased .. the CATS which r un-tempered and clear r quite expensive like 35-40k but search around and u may find cheaper ones too

I came to know very late thats the reason my catalytic got destroyed
Now im searching for a catalytic converter
