Corolla 2.0 D Saloon 2004 MAX SPEED?

Do you guys think a 2.0 D Saloon 2004 model can touch 172km/h on large tires (not factory fitted).

Please post maximum speeds reached with 2.0 D Saloon Corolla here. Just want to have an idea. I was racing with a Toyota Camry 2007 (yeah) and i was right on its tail throughout, thats when i touched 172km/h on my car on motorway. Camrys driver was freaked out :-p.

^^ thats probably because he never saw a big black cloud of diesel exhaust before
and i am always freaked out when there is a corolla on the tail because lack of stopping capabilities in it

Mine 2006 diesel corolla hardly touches 140km/hr, after this its like pistons will burst out of engine. 2c engine is not at all for race'n

or for high speeds.

2.0d is already a crude and non refined piece of engineering. over 120kmph it makes so much noise and vibration that i get scared. the motor is a 20yr old design and is no match for todays modern engines. i think this vehicle should not be pushed above 140 otherwise something serious may happen. and yes as hashim said, whose gonna stop it from that speed?

oh well 2.0 D max speed depends on from what height ur falling and how gravity pulls u

so there is no fixed speed for 2.0D
it can go anywhere from 120 to 500 if ur falling from sky then u can be lucky enough to even break the sound barrier

I m cent percent sure that camry was not racing with you, may be he even didnt knew that u r chasing him to beat him .he must be going just fast.caz camry can easily smoke out 2.0D. even 96 Exi can beat 2.O D easily.(2.O D has oldest tech).

i have a diesel rolla 95 japenese.
coz of its being japenese the top speed is 180 on the meter...
n i have touched 180 2 times on it..

yar i have one 2.0D Saloon late 2006 model and the top speed i hv touched is 200KM/H no engine extra sound and no vibration at all

i have low profile tyres in it

I touched almost 180km\h.... on Karachi highway.... during the curfew days when the highway was desserted.

I drive it at 80 in the fifth gear , because thats the only way u can have the minimum possible sound of that *&&^$^^&# engine

ALLAH cant give me 2nd pair of ears so dont take it over 100km/hr:P

i want to share my 3 experiences with 2.0d

1. YEAR=2007 took it to a max of 150 and then slowed down coz i though i saw the angel of death

2. YEAR=1999 did a drag on my khyber with an 2.0dg 99 and took the initial lead easily but the rolla slowly caught up

3. YEAR=2005 did a drag with my city IDSI and took lead easily and maintained it
