Aoa fellow Pakwheelers,
There seems to be a problem with my 2006 Toyota Corolla 2.0d. The vehicle power have majorly decreased in the last few months. Car is very well maintained with only 170,000kms on the clock. No black smoke and half self start. No leaks and no oil decreasing issue.
In city it did not bothered me really because of cruising in the traffic but when I took this car to Naran last month that's where I felt something was a bit off.
The car did its job well while travelling to Naran but it did not go beyond 120kmph on full pedal to the floor on the motorway. Its consuming lots of diesel and the ride feels bumpy when acceleration on low pedal. It seems like the engine have started to take up load.
Engine is untouched by the local jugaar mechanics up till now. Only the jan cover seals have been changed. Maintenance have always been up to date. Now the car pick up and fuel consumption have become somewhat bothersome.
I took the car for a check up to 2 different mechanics. Mechanic 1 diagnosed that the Diesel Injectors require service. Total cost 6000pkr for the service of the injectors. Then I took it to the 2nd Mechanic for his diagnosis. According to him the car did not require Injector service because it starts up smoothly therefore nothing is wrong with the injectors. He wanted me to swap the clutch plate instead.
Now I am a bit too confused on what to do. Engine to me seems healthy but expert opinion would be highly appreciated.
Please suggest what should be the best approach from here because I am not sure If this vehicle really requires a new clutch/pressure plate or the diesel injectors have gone bad and requires service or this vehicle Diesel pump requires recalibration?
Thank you in advance.
