sorry for bad quality pics guys as these and many others were captured by nokia c2-01 cam sadly but i will get my hands on something nice when il get the budget lolz now what ive done is upgraded the old desi distributor with something branded then upgraded the old power cable from 4awg to 0awg branded stinger and removed all the old red coloured desi amp negative wires+positive wires from both amps and updated em with that old stinger branded 4awg blue wire then upgraded the old subwoofer cable from 16awg monster cable to 13awg oehlbach speaker cable .. in the end updated battery positive terminal from old rusted oem plug to rockfordfosgate branded terminal .. so thats it for now for audio section but soon i will be diverting my attention towards my ride looks and i will update you guys regarding that inshAllah .. thanks

lolz the thing you see is not an EcU actually its a 300 ampere fuse box of that 0awg power cable that goes into my amplifiers

i dont understand bro plz explain in detail as that fuse comes with the amp kit and am sure they dont wanna put something useless inside that package rite :S anyways ive done some research and found out that for 4awg wire 100amp fuse is enough but for zero awg wire fuse must be off 300amp atleast check out the chart given below

U r right according to this chart but the thing is ur alternator can't generate 300A so its overkill to use such a big fuse. Calculate the total fuse rating of all ur amps and u'll get the required fuse for ur setup. 150A generally is enough already. I use 150A fuse in my car taking into account my car is 2000cc and stock alternator is 120A. U can check d alternator rating of ur car and do the maths.

2) Distributor have 2 fuses of (60A x 2) which makes total of 120A
3) Power wire have one 300A fuse near battery
4) My both amplifiers fuse ratings are (focal 4.75 = 40amp x 2) and (focal 1.800 = 30amp x 3) which makes total of (80+90=170amp)

now plz suggest me by looking at the above info that what must be the required power wire fuse should i be using ? i already have 150amp fuse that comes with my privious stinger 4awg power wire should i use that 150amp fuse with my current 0awg wire is that a sensible move and also suggest me what should be the approx cost for 120A alternator should i go for aftermarket alternator or oem one ? also will it gonna fit like plug n play on my ride's oem alternator place ? sorry am just a noob in this and still learning

bro dont just measure alternator ampere think about the battery amps. battery can give 100s ampere for a short time like it gives to starter motor

Just calculate the total rms your amps are demanding,I just installed a bolt on fit 90amp alternator taken out of a diesel corolla, just get a kabli one they're cheap. At approximately 15v the car is capable of handling 1350 watts rms with a 90 amp alternator, as far as the fuse is concerned think of it like a failsafe,a 300amp fuse won't blow if there is a short circuit so it'll be of no use.
Power(watts)= voltage(volts) x current(amperes)

What i understand from ur thread is u r using 0awg power cable from battery to distro and from there 4awg to both amps. Is that so ?

Regarding fuses u have to understand few things. Fuse r a physical resistance for the current means too many fuses will ultimately affect sound quality. So, use the fuse which is absolute necessity, that's it. Another thing is fuse at amp is to protect the amp while fuse elsewhere is to protect the particular wire. Now coming to ur queries

Firstly, Distro fuses are for ur 4awg wires. 60A is too small. Use 100A for each 4awg. Dont count them in ur total Amp calculation.
Secondly, A 150A near battery will be sufficient. U can even try 100A, if it doesn't blow at high volume then should be ok. I am using 3amps and a processor, my 150A fuse never blew.

I have no idea about where and how to get and install the alt since i've never done it. Other gurus here can guide u better.

In my openion never Opt for alternator change, this will ruin your new ride and will bring hassel in ure life. I dont think you should be thinking on these line because you dont need it, just go for BIG3 if you feel like having some light diming issues on high volume. Many PW are running ICE with stock alternator of 60-70Amp.
Regarding the FUSE im using 150Amp (included in Focal EK21amp kit) for two amp and i dint observe any blew ups so i think 150A is more then enough.

as for the fuses, i have always used a fuse with rating that only slightly above (15-20 amps) the fuse on the amp itself which that power wire is connected to. my main circuit breaker thingy next to the battery was only 150 amps rated and i was running three amps and a processor on the wire. i had used three fuses after the power distributor in the rear, one for each and rated at 60 amps each. none of the fuse ever blew. had a stock alternator with stock batter in baleno 1.6 and once the installer shorted the wires by mistake and the 150 amp circuit breaker opened. on a 60ah battery it should not have happened but do remember that 60ah is not the maximum rating of the battery. it means that it can provide 60 amps for an hr or 120 amps for half anf hr or 240 amps for 15 mins and so on.

thanks bro sorry for late replying bit busy in other house hold tasks .. but now am free.yup u are rite that 20-30amp fuse is for hid relay harness kit and Anl fuse for (0)awg power wire is placed between air filter and factory fuse holder its not that hard to find lolz newayz nowadays am thinking to go for rettractable side mirrors,new tyres,leather stitched steering cover and battery upgrade (looking for 80-100amp dry battery) any decent place you recommend where i could get quality workmanship in islamabad ? il be thankful to u
