Dear All, the purpose of this thread is to compare corolla old shape with new shape, For example AC of old shape is much better then that of new shape etc..............

As i own old shape corolla and also experienced new shape.

Old shape is Not stable and too much sound when on motorway etc. Bad brakes.

New shape very less cabin noise as compared to old shape stable at speeds better brakes.

About ac there isn't any significant different or should i say i haven't felt any.

oh yes if given the option i would instantly upgrade to new model. But the price factor is bit bad which is forcing me to stick to old model.
Plus buying xli is useless and new gli touches 16 lacks. So over that i would prefer some japan import.

I want to tel that this will be my 2nd car and will be just used for out of station trips .i donnt want to install cng.
I will prefor which model will consume less petrol on my out city traveling.
I want best fuel millage .
Plz tel me which model i should buy .gli 2009,gli2010,gli 2011,gli 2012, altis 1.8 ,altis 1.6

Ive got both the cars, Glis, 10th Gen in every aspect is better then the 9th Gen models.

leg space (rear and front)
Steering wheel
Visiblitiy
Seating
Audio
looks
Comfort level
Low cabin noise
bigger boot
-bigger wheels/tires (same size as of Altis now) 9th Gen Gli has 175-65-14 while Altis had 185-65r14.
Much more road gripier then then the 9th Gen (yes civics are still better)
Bigger bumpers (safety)

etc etc, To cut it short, 10th Gen doesnt looks too but is alot better then the 9th Gen

I feel the A/c of the 9th Gen is better but prone to coil leakeage.
i feel the 9th Gen accelerates better.

for least fuel consumption go for an 2007-8 xli/gli, very durable car ever..

one more draw back in new shape is that front ash tray lid does not open fully due to which during driving a great trouble..............to

new corolla's positive: more stable,Low cabin noise,bigger boot,cute looking

negative: under powered,can't be used on CNG!

old positive:A/C,CNG works flawlessly ,price

negative:not as quite cabin as the new one!,brakes!! (but my corolla's brakes r perfectly fine)

New Corolla got EPS which is very soft, and old shape has HPS which is a bit hard as compared to EPS, Plus EPS has no load on engine.

As far as roadgrip, stability and braking is concerned the current one is much better.
ABS is standard in GLi.
Exterior looks are more attractive than previous gen. however I liked the interior of the previous shape more than the current shape along with the speedometer cluster which was illuminated in white and blue but thats just me.
The old shape, being lighter accelerates faster but has very poor brakes.
Regarding AC performance then I didnt feel any significant difference between the AC cooling of both of these cars.

AC of older shape is better as compare to new one, older shape blower is fast i think this may b the reason.

Well that white red contrast was gOod in previous shape... than the orange red one
new has better brakes.... now having the 2012 one and there is no AC difference.... both have fine AC

Hi guys, can some also tell the braking of 9th generation altis 1.8 vs braking of 10th generation GLI etc. As everyone is saying 9th generation has pathetic braking, does it true for all variants of 9th generation?

9th generation altis comes with ABS, which was not common at that time, does it still couldn't play any role in improving the braking?

And also if possible can someone also compare the fuel average of 9th generation vs 10th generation. If possible, all variants, otherwise just altis.
