Hello Pakwheelers,
I have a Corolla xli 2009 and have had it for a few years now, the car's mileage is around 110,000 Km's.
Since a few months the car is getting lower and lower and even without no one sitting in the back seat of the car it has started touching from beneath, be it a speed breaker or any such obstacle. We have another corolla 2010 as well and with two people sitting in the back it does not touch the breakers. So today I decided to get it checked, first I went to Toyota and they gave me a rough estimate of 100,000 for the complete work (LOL) so I called a friend and he suggested me to go to Saeed engineering works Gawal Mandi, Rawalpindi. After a test drive the tech told me that if I have packing (spacers) installed it would resolve the issue but and would cost me aroung 3000 for four packing + Labor cost, because I knew that was a desi totka I wasnt satisfied and I told them to give me an alternate and why does the other corolla not touch the ground without these spacers, so the tech suggested that I have my shock absorbers changed, the shop nearby had three brands.
1) toyota shocks (made in Thailand) 16000 for all four front and back
2) Some Agriauto (made in Pakistan) 17000 for all four
3) KYB (Made in Japan) 17000 for all four
so the tech sugested me to go for KYB and so I did have all four shock absorbers changed, I was under an impression that now when the car would be put down and the jack would be removed I would be able to see a change in the car's height, however when the car came down I was shocked to see that the height was still the same. However I paid them the bills and got back to home and on my way I tested the car to see if it still hits the ground or not and just next to my home is this breaker where the other corollas wont hit and mine would so I passed the car over it an "Kkhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" the car hit again, I was the only one sitting in the car and the car had no load at all.
I really need a suggestion of how to get rid of this problem the rite way and not the desi way. Any help would be highly appreciated.
