Get your fuel filter+pump checked and better, replaced. My 1.6 Altis, cruistronic was doing 8-9 km/l in city. I changed the fuel filter & pump, and now the average in city traffic is 12-13 km/l (with AC & a light foot of course), and it hasn't come below 11, even with heavy foot.

My altis has again dropped its average to 7.9-8.3 km/l from where will you get CAT checked ?

This is my Altis auto fuel economy which is driven 140k km.
Oil = Zic A 10-w40.
These figures are with light-medium foot driving.
Abbottabad City = 8-9 km/l with Ac.
Because average speed vary between 10-30km/h so mostly drive is in 1st & 2nd gear.

GT road from abbottabad to swat = 13.5-14.5 km/l with Ac.
Average speed between 30-70km/h.
Distance almost 300km.

Motorway = 15-16 km/l with Ac.
Speed between 100-110 km/h.

I bought a new Toyota Altis 1.6 (facelift model) in the end of December, 2017 and till today it is driven only 3500kms. It is giving me very low mileage between 9.5 to 10.6km/L within city without A/C. What might be the reason. Toyota dealership told be let it complete 5000kms first.

I owned the same 2012 1.6 cruisetronic for about 5 years. The max it gave with ac during summers was 8. Bhai jaan thats what it is in city. Whichever oil u use bla bla it will remain the same.

The thing is with its transmission which is superect 4 speed, fuel economy is always reduced because it has 4 gears.

real time calculation is around 12.4 before reserve
moderate pedal
at last tank it was around 11.4 real time...
though the issue is my car has become laggy/heavy cat never cleaned maybe tunning will solve the issue

Commenting here in 2021 lol, I recently purchased a Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 SR Cruistronic. It has done around 150k kms and recently I took it to Toyota and got a thorough tuning. However, I did not change the spark plugs nor the fuel filter.

My issue is that my car is giving poor fuel economy, 7.8 km/l by manual calculations but the car computer shows me an average of 9.3 km/l.

Can someone help me out with why there is so much discrepancy between the two?

It has probably not been reset in a long time,mine also used to show different readings but its more or less accurate now after i reset it.

And how do I reset it? Reset the ECU or the odometer?

Long press the button on the odometer where it shows the average,it should show 0.0km/l when it resets

And what might explain the bad average? Because I had toyota officials check both the spark plugs and the fuel pump, they assured me that they were both okay and had been cleaned.

Tbh,it depends on your driving style and route as well,if your daily travel is filled with traffic/signals and you drive with a heavy foot,then this avg isn't bad at all.
