Corolla Altis 1.6 2015 extreme low average

Please explain 3rd & 4th gen. engines part.
P.S. your highway average is low, my car gives 13-14 if driven above 120 KM/H.

This is on GT Road where frequent brakes are used. On Motorway 14km/l.
I am not too technical about engines. All I know is that 4th Generation engines are better, having better efficiency and able to produce more torque in smaller engine size. 4th Gen engines are around for 7 to 8 years now.

The only issue is the transmission, if Altis 1.6 came with cvt transmission as in 1.8, it will be an ideal combination. Hope so for Corolla 12 gen.
I have no issues with 1ZRFE.

After more than 6 months of use I see no reason to dislike the Ect transmission in 1.6 Altis. The shifts are as smooth as butter, mileage is excellent.

Its returning 12.5-13.5kmpl in city.
16kmpl on highway at 80-100kmph.

Only because its old doesnt mean its crap. Its a sturdy transmission, ready for abuse as well.

Depends on your driving style
Mine 2016 1.6 giving 11-11.5 in city and 14-15 highway 16000km Done, mostly drive under 2500-3000 RPM with 215mm low profile tires
In one full tank my car runs for 500+ km in city, Engine Oil from Toyota Taglon 10-40 blue one

Taglon does not come in blue color nor it is 10w40.

So what do you suggest is happening in my car. Current mileage after replacing plugs (iridium ones) and air filter is 8.8 in City, that too in not so congested routes. 10 max on ring road.

What's your car average now, since it's almost 5 months now.
My car use to give me 10.5 with ac in lahore and my trips are short, but I recently changed air filer to asakashi and my average dropped to 9.5.
Have you tried resetting the avaerge and driving it on motorway.
