Ive driven both. Opt for Altis if you have a budget of 1300k but you'll have to bear the fuel price as it doesn't gives more than 13/14 kmpl whereas Diesel will give you around 15 kmpl easily plus low maintenance cost for diesel. I will recommend you Altis as it is an all in one package. Engine is very very powerful. Its no do doubt a beast. Diesel is a little slow and feels heavy on foot when you have driven some good petrol cars.
