Corolla CVT jerky acceleration

Assalam alikum,
So i have been experiencing very jerky acceleration from new CVT corollas. Weather it is Grande or the new CVT 1.6 Altis. And im here because is it normal to have those jerky acceleration or is there a fault in both of my cars? It usually occurs in low speed and lightly put the foot on the pedal and after that there is a delay then it immediately goes to higher rpm and it jerks. Please help me regarding this issue.

Normal behavior of k313 cvt between speeds of 30-50km/h. Don't fiddle with it at all. Been driving the same car with same cvt from 7 years now.

Same behavior observed in my new Grande 2024 model. The jerk is very minute / barely noticeable. I mean as a driver if I observe it very carefully, then it can be felt but as a passenger, the jerk can't be felt. I think this is a normal behavior.

The thing you mentioned is not jerky acceleration but known CVT lag.

there is almost no lag in grandes cvti whereas x oriel has noticeable lag accelerating from lower speeds.

I have even witnessed the same in a 2017 CVT.

corolla till X was fine. but since 2021 all corollas have jerk in CVT. my friend tried to claim but they said it's normal, however it's not

Since 2021 . IMC is importing some crappy CVTs. all cars have jerk. My 2018 Grande was very smooth

hmm interesting.. mine is also 2018 very smooth whereas i drove an x oriel 2017 and it had noticeable lag in response didnt jolt like my grande when accelerating from lower speeds ..even brv i drove felt same both these cars build pace gradually and then at higher rpms you feel that car is pulling unlike my grande which instantly gives good acceleration/pick.

yes and another thing i noticed is that x grande after 2021 many of them had issue with trunk not closing something to do with the lock many were at the dealership with the same problem all were x 2021 onwards.

CVT known for being laggy and Toyota just have reduce this lag compare to Civic X I have drove almost all grande models all have same sort of lag because its minimal that’s why majority or the users don’t notice it.

Normal lag, just get used to it. Also, turn sports mode on and the lag will be reduced

Its downshifting so thats why there is jerk on lower speeds not big of an issue. Happens in downshifting from 3 to 2. But still cvts are meant to be smooth.

Yesterday I drove car on sports mode and it felt smoother and throttle response was also much better. However, at low speeds when giving and releasing throttle input (minute pedal input), it doesn't feel as smooth as my 1.6 with 4 speed AT. Also, engine braking at low speeds is much aggressive as compared to my 1.6 AT, and it doesn't like to creep as good as 1.6 AT. Coming from 4 speed AT and being my first ever CVT car, the drive feels so much different and I also feel the rubber band effect while accelerating. However, the good side is that in local also, fuel consumption is so much better than my 1.6 AT which did not give me above 11 KMPL even with feather light pedal while this is giving me around 14.5 in local with same traffic and driving conditions, even though the car is still in its break in period.

this problem was there in my altis 1.6 2022 model and also in my friend's altis x 1.6 2021 model. my friend got it fixed from dealership, i think they hammered some lock or something to fix the issue, but i kept it like it is and then sold the car and just bought grande x 24 model. this trunk lid issue is not there in my grande 24 and it opens and closes perfectly fine like it should.

That’s the beauty of CVT you will get use to it.

I remember having this lag in my Grande 2017, I believe its normal CVT behaviour. The 1.6 4 SP AT was very smooth transmission with not so good fuel economy though.

Have you checked it on motorway or highway ? How you compare the fuel averages?
