It is very necessary and important to put your car under the cover. It protects your car from dust, color fading and minor scratches. I use it daily as I have to park my car in office for all day to protect it from dust. At home I am at ease as it is well protected and I don't cover it.

I totally agree with you. The things we are adding up are actually updations which we do not get here as standard.
I am attaching here a list of accessories and equipment supplied as standard by US Toyota.
Some can be updated but other are difficult to get our hands on.
such as Electrically operated heated seats, Toyota sense, radar controlled cruise etc.

I don't think that it would void any warranty. In some countries it is a standard accessory supplied with the car. As Toyota US every Corolla variant is equipped with this system.

Cutting/peeling off any genuine wire would definitely void your warranty.

the engine compartment looks really clean. How do you wash it? because it's always inadvisable to use pressure hose or even simple hose in the engine area.

I do wash engine bay with water sometimes. but this cleaning and waxing was done by hand.

I hate to interrupt guys but please don’t be swayed away with the fear that you’ll engine will be cursed if washed. I’ve been washing engine bays for so many years now and that too with a pressure washer. It’s common sense, you need to cover very few parts before doing so. I also use an leaf air blower after washing.

Same condition here.
But mine is only 200km driven and almost a month old!
Don't know what's causing it.
Will go for first service this saturday and would ask them to replace battery under warranty!

No issues. Just make sure to disconnect battery terminals and cover the following:
1. Alternator
2. Intake
3. Exposed wire joints

I wish you all the luck. That thought also came to my mind but again what do you expect, they will give you in replacement. The same AGS. Here in this thread or in some other corolla thread I read that someone's door panel color got faded due to acid rain from battery. I was not taking any risks.

Well you're right.
I guess if they do replace it under warranty, I'll exchange the new battery and get the maintenance free one or I'll just keep it and see if it also does the same and then get the dry one

With due respect to Mr. @fouadbakht. If I disconnect battery terminals the system of the Grande or Civic or BMW has to be reset by the dealership. Alternator, Intake, wires then nothing remains to be washed.

I got my Grande and Civic washed at pump with pressure washers only covering ECU part with plastic. In Grande I do not wash beneath the engine cover as there are sensors located, only air blower. Haven't faced any problem so far. The dealer ship also washes the engine at every service. I haven't witnessed how, but they do.

But due care should be taken I agree at that point.

I’ve owned the current Altis 1.6, Oriel 1.8 Civic X. Never ever had to go to a dealership for an aftermath. If removal of battery terminal is an issue, just cover them. Modern engines are much better at sustaining washes than before but my point was to take care of these for peace of mind. Personally, I don’t cover anything mostly because I know what I’m doing.
And trust me, as a detailer, I know, the engine bay if done correctly with patience is the most tedious place to detail.
And I do say “Exposed Wire Joints” because some of the readers might have those.

Cover the ECU and Fuse box with plastic bag. No need to cover the alternator just dont flood it with water. Also I try to be careful around sensors.

Thats it. I have been washing the engine bay of all my cars including the 1.6 FL with Karcher pressure washer.
No issues.

i dont know what all of you are on about, engine bay in any case should not be washed with water let alone with a pressure water......use a clean damp cloth and see it doing wonders followed by engine dresser of any good brand.....please DO NOT wash it with water.....specially from the pump wash service.

also by if you have been lucky so far does not mean the water washing wont ruin your stuff.....this theory is same as mein bohat red signal torta hoon aj tak masla nahi hoaa....
