How I calculate fuel average fill-up to fill up:
Ask the attended to set the dispenser to Auto and pull out the first time the dispenser senses the tank it Full and stops fueling (it's made to work this way because there is supposed to be some air left in the gas tank for it to flow optimally).

By following this method, you will get the exact distance reading and distance travelled, as no matter what, you will only be feeling for the distance travelled.

Another thing to bear in mind is tire size. The odometer is programmed to measure distance in accordance to a particular tire size hence a larger/longer rotation, will cover more ground as opposed to a shorter one, completely compromising the accuracy of your odometer.

Average will improve with time. Mine is 2010 1.3 Gli with same 2NZ-FE in 2019 Gli if im not wrong. It easily does 15kms+ on Isb express way daily drive.

He had GLI a few months ago, now he has Grande 1.8, he thought about buying Civic Turbo but now has plans to get a German car, very conflicted lol. Let me tell you whole story
I was fed up of this GLi which we kept for 5 years and I was like bas boht hua and then next day I and my father went to toyota dealership for gli's Mantaininece and there I saw Grande and then I fell in love with it. I asked my father to change it and he liked it also so we agreed to upgrade to Grande. Booked Grande on feb 13 after failing in finding a good used one. It arrived in april. Gli was already sold out in feb. Few days back I went to honda dealership to check out turbo and I came back and asked few questions about civic. My intention was not about asking my father to buy a new car again. What about german car? We may keep it for 2-3 years and then upgrade to a German car. This account is for my father and me. He rarely uses this account and it is mostly used be me. That statement "keeping cars for 30 years" was written by my father not me!

Majority people in Pakistan rely too much on the information shown in the gauge calculator, that one is never accurate, please use an app on your phone to track your fuel expenses and mileage.

For example, I am using an app called DRIVVO, it can carry multiple profiles meaning if you have multiple cars you can add fuel and other expenses for all cars separately. Also the reports generated by the app are very thorough for me and it gives me the actual fuel consumption of my cars based on the number of liters of fuel I used as I only refuel the car fully, never go for partial refueling.

P.S. according to the app, my GLi is doing about 14-15kmpl on average while my 2.0D has been consistently giving me 16-17kmpl on average in city driving.

App is not correct since it uses same total capacity in every calculation. Whereas each petrol pump has its own sensors to indicate tank full condition. The integral car mileage meter is accurate. However it gives real time average consumption only from the time it was reset.

It's not accurate and shows current avg only. After resetting it shows crazy avgs like 24 kpl and approximate realistic avg is shown after more than first quarter of tank is consumed.

I always fill from same pump and full tank so I get near accurate avg on the app.

Even someone fills from different pumps and nozzles avg can be drawn from last five fills.

Brother I am telling you by experience. Been doing this for over 10 years now. The in-dash reading varies from the actual by 20%, that can be either way, positive or negative.
