Corolla GLi 1.3L Fuel Consumption

i have done 580.2 km at the average of 16.5KM/L from Mianwali to Daharki. 400KM is single road out of 580.2KM. Speed Between 80 to 100 KM/H.

this avg meter on the cars is not always accurate. The avg your car is giving is fine. my 09 GLi gave me a max avg of 14.97km\l on the highway with speeds between 90-110 km\h. In the city it gives in between 11.5-12.5 and that too with careful driving. And this is on stock tires

Guys, there is a way to reset trip computer to show you correct average......overtime due to stop n start driving trip computer reading becomes only approximate/indicative

For everyone's benefit Here is the procedure that I use in my car(Not a Corolla but principle is same):

1) make sure your trip computer is showing average L/100Km then reset your trip computer by pressing and holding the button/knob that you use to flip through different display modes

2) Once trip computer is reset release the button/knob

3) Start driving on highway with a constany speed, dont press accelerator too much....just press enough to hold speed at 80 Km/H

4) Drive like explained in step 3 for 10 Kms

You'll see your trip computer starts showing the reading you expect from your car

Few points to remember for best fuel average: 1. Always change gear at or apx at 2500 rpm. 2. Always keep ur air filter clean,in dusty atmosphere clean it after 15 days. 3. Best fuel economy will b if u drive between 80 km/hr to 90 kms/ hr. 4. Use tires size as recommended by company i.e. 195/65. Adopt these points and share fuel average of gli/ xli please.

Hi Frnds, I'm going to buy a car in the range of 10 to 13 lacs but don't know which is the best car in mean of furl efficiency i searched alot on net at pakwheels. So, i have have confusion among GLI 2012, City, swift, and prius 2008 model. At pakwheels there are many prius cars in the range of 14 lacs which i read that if gives 18 to 20 km/l but don't have any idea about Prius because it's pakistan and now a days you can't trust on anybody especially on stranger so plzz guide me which car should i buy plzz plzz plzzz tell me someone i have aloooooooot of confusion
