Corolla gli 2009 rpm hunting problem

Assalam o Alaikum all.. I own a corolla GLi 2009, done about 80k, recently ive had a probelm pertaining to unstable rpms. The rpms hunt in idle conditon, goes down to 600, comes back to 800/900 frequently, leaving heavy engine vibration. Although A/C compressor is not original, but rpm hunting occurs even without A/C on. Ive had CNG installed, but ive removed all the CNG connections, got a real good car tuning, ignition coils replaced, spark plugs replaced, catalytic convertor thoroughly cleaned, fuel pump and fuel filter replaced. Tried HI-Octane, all in vain.. Problem still persists.. Diagnostic tool returned no fault code. Your valuable input will be highly appreciated. JazakAllah.

Rpm problem only on idle? Do you feel any missing during drive?

W/salam...bro I own gli 2010 and I have this exact same problem, tried some same year gli's of friends too but same problem was there as well. Dun know bout your end but I tried each and everything I could, even went on to change the battery but this thing comes back each and every time. Other thing is when you press clutch to change gear, rpm goes down to around 500 and then comes back up, this thing is annoying as well. If you solve this please lemme know.

Check Maf sensor. Fluctuating usually happens due to faulty maf sensor.

All above people, do you even have corolla?
It’s normal in electronic throttle body corolla from 2008. Rpm goes to 600 when ac is off and goes to 700-800 when ac or radiator fan is on. Rpm of corolla specifically xli and gli is normal as long as it stays above 500. Vibrations you are facing can be due to broken engine mount.
Lastly, when was the last time you had its throttle body service?

Fluctuating dropping rpm is never normal.
There is an air leak. Check air filter housing for any cracks and holes. Seal them and ensure it fits properly over the throttle body.

If this fails to solve the problem check IACV

Yes, i’m serious as I kept gli 2006 and 2010 and drove it to massive mileage. Fluctuation between 600-800 is normal, if there is consistent fluctuations; like if it’s fluctuating under 5 seconds, and needle is jumping than he need a throttle body service.

then your car got a problem....never had seen such problem in any corolla and first time heard from you. there's shouldn't be any fluctuations.

Problem? Bro it’s ecu that sets rpms in electronic throttle body, it doesn’t fluctuate consistently, but it will change rpms time to time. How can a problematic car be able to cover 220,000kms? and it is still with a friend at 270000kms

It's always the ecu deciding the rpm whether in electronic throttle body or simple one. Ecu commute results from different sensors and decide the rpm. What you is saying it not fluctuations. It's like on load rpm increases. But what he's saying is fluctuations (as much as i understand from "unstable rpm" )
