Dear all need best advice. I have GLI 2012 model and its mileage is about to touch 40,000 km, i have to change it's first gear oil. i have used ZIC GL-4 in my previous cars and its best oil. Toyota has its own gear oil too which is RS 3,000 for 3 liters and i have heard that Total Oil company is manufacturing this oil for Toyota company.

On the other hand Total oils are not very good as compared to other oils in market. I need advice from personal experience of people who have corolla and are using any best gear oil like zic or toyota original oil. Which oil should i use the zic one in red bottle with grade GL-4 or orginal Toyota Indus oil. one more there is a huge price difference between both these oils. 3 liters of zic will cost around Rs 1,700 and Toyota Indus will cost Rs 3,000.

please advice and share your experience.

2NZ-FE 1.9L SAE 75W-90 API GL-4 or GL-5
1ZR-FE 2.4L SAE 75W Toyota's Gear Oil LV or equivalent. API Grade is only GL-4
2C 2.5L SAE 75W-90 API GL-4 or GL-5

I will check the price with my friend today.

and its gear oil capacity is 2.4L for Manual Transmissions.

My driver went to change gear oil today for my xli 09. Instead of using zic FF he bought ZIC auto trans oil and filled in the car..

@hashamraja You have to change gear oil. Use manual transmission oil as recommended above.

The various options for manual gear box oils are mentioned in previous, get the ATF drained and fill it with proper oil. IMO Replace it with new oil after a week again to get the residual ATF flushed. Make sure your driver pays all the expenses on this regard.
