both cars are having issue on CNG.....so far rolla engines have been best for CNG.....but this new vvti do have issues....i think its some thing to do with mechanics who cant tune it properly..thats what issue came in liana when it was launched ..but later was resolved

Honda City has ABS and factory Power Windows while the price is less than XLi. (Provides two features and does not cost more than Corolla).

The cars in question are Toyota Corolla GLI and Honda City.

GLI is a crap - built quality is ------- dont have words to explain it so dam pathetic, old technology - - Honda is Honda bhai.

corolla rocks i have gli2009 and altis 1.8sr 2010 both rocks m running them on petrol no problem at all,excellent brakes and everything is fine new city is good but not as corolla

In my experience, corolla gli or xli are best cars for using CNG in the world, most compatible with landi renzo kits with minimum alterations

@OP Corolla engine is good for CNG but there have been some issues in the new Corolla on CNG.
City is having a decent average on petrol. I dont think there is a need of CNG.

In our company we have both new city and corolla as well as most of my friends switch to new corolla and city. Beware new corolla cannot run on cng giving head aches due to computerized tuning. my uncle had to remove cng and its computerized rpm control system now needs to be changed for Rs. 12000. ask any dealer they will tell you that last model is in very demand market at Rs. 1 million to Rs. 1.1 million of 2008-09 used corolla xli just because of cng. city giving better gas mileage so no need to put on cng. city giving 12-13 km on day to day karachi city driving (not in rush hours) and corolla giving 11 km. but on highways city is way ahead. forget cng on any corolla regarding city i have no idea but people are saying do not put cng in city as well. also in terms of saving you would be only Rs. 2 per km if you are using cng instead of petrol at rate of Rs. 69 per ltr, city has pick up problems while corolla has very high end torque and is almost near to 1.8 civic so corolla's 1.3 pick up is outstanding even though horse power is 85 in comparison to ctiy's 95. still corolla has excellent resale , 1 year old selling for more than the purchase price whicl city is already 75k to 100 k down.

1.8 Civic's Torque = 174Nm

1.3 Corolla's Torque =121Nm

The common point that all of you are missing here is: GLi costs about 2 Lack more than Honda City and there is nothing tangible you can write which could explain the difference in the price.

If the only point Corolla supporters have is that more Corollas are on the road, so Corolla is better, then the whole debate is over. There is nothing that can be said to this. But looking at the price/features each car offers, we can make our decision much easier. Here it goes again:

Honda City has ABS and factory Power Windows while the price is less than XLi. (Provides two features and does not cost more than Corolla).

Toyota Corolla (1.3L) produces 85 horse power. Honda City on the other hand produces 100 horse power. (1.3L Corolla can never win a race with Honda City).

Toyota Corolla's max fuel-average recorded here by Pakwheels memebers (that I know of) has been around 16 Kpl.

City's best average was 22.8.

Hence: Produces more power and eats relatively less fuel.

Higher Horse power also implies a better CNG success rate. All the under powered cars fail to provide a satisfactory performance on CNG (Japanese Alto, Pajero Mini etc, all are underpowered and have the worst performance on CNG).

Some people say Corolla is more spacious. The seating capacity for both the cars is 5. However, Honda City's trunk is MUCH more spacious than that of Corolla. The reason is that Honda's Fuel tank is not beneath the trunk, its beneath the front seats so the trunk is much more deeper and spacious than any other Pakistani car.

All the qualities with lesser price and the latest i-vtec. VVT-i was introduced in 1996 (14 years ago). i-vtec is hardly 4 to 5 years old technology..

City is much better a car as far as engine performabce is considered than city. You can check that out by yourself by car comparison on pw.
For cng if you do your cng installation from any good cng mechanic you can get optimum performance from both of the cars.
