on cng corolla is gem but vvti is complicated so it requires good tunning which some mechanics can do but on cng city has some issues like fuel guage error and some advancer problems.

when u say city average is nice no need of cng.its totally wrong.city normal average is around 13km in city and 16 km on highways normal driving.thats around
drive around on highways around 184km thats costs 782 rs on petrol and 4.25rs per km
and on cng its around costs 450 rs with some discount thats 2.44 rs per km
now see thats half the price of petrol and u can easily get the price of cng kit in some months.
and if u talk about hypermiling that gets 20km on petrol than on cng hypermiling will get 250km in 1 cyylinder.normal average my uncle gets is 16km on highway and 14 km in city and speed around 110 km on highways

Sir City has better performance and economy on CNG.

Lets have a look shall we...

On Honda's Official Website its given Torque: 128 lbf.ft = 174 Nm

Now if you convert lbf.ft to Nm it becomes 174 Nm

On Toyota's Official Website its given Torque: 121 Nm

1.8 Civic's Torque = 174Nm

1.3 Corolla's Torque =121Nm

Gone are the days when Corolla had a monoply . now just notice one thing in news paper ads that Honda cars sale/purchase is almost on equal footing with Corolla. No doubt Corolla still has a superirity edge with respect to Pak markets but when it comes down to drive feel and specifications City takes the lead. (Well it all is for discussion sake otherwise once u r sitting in new corolla u wont miss new city and when u r driving new city u wont miss corolla). Allah ka shukar karain that he enabled u to get new cars which only few can afford in this country and be content. a person with a big car should also have a big heart (which i see rare here) anyways good luck to all who own new cars and may Allah fulfill desires of rest of the lot to get new cars.

City has IDSI (Dual and Sequel injection), the most advanced EFI system than just corolla EFIs. I think steps are, Carburetor Injection -> EFI -> MPFI -> DSI

Hi, i have to buy new City 2011 in coming month but its difficult for me to choice whether to run in on Petrol or CNG. I will prefere to drive this car on CNG as my drive is almost 80 t0 100 km daily and i can't afford to drive on petrol due to high prices of fuel. please suggest? what is the average running cost on CNG for this cars. Is there any problem with the engine performance due to CNG installation?

dear its if u have budget so that u can afford gli so go for that becoz its solid made car and easily driven on village or rough roads whereas city suspension more quickly deteriorate if driven on such roads so it might be harmful for you if u buy city otherwise city is the vest local made car offering better fuel economy, ABS in low price tag sort out your need if you have to go to such places where roads are not well mettaled try to buy used gli if cant afford new one otherwise city

Honda City has ABS and factory Power Windows while the price is less than XLi. (Provides two features and does not cost more than Corolla).

Toyota Corolla (1.3L) produces 85 horse power. Honda City on the other hand produces 100 horse power.

Toyota Corolla's max fuel-average recorded here by Pakwheels memebers (that I know of) has been around 16 Kpl.

City's best average was 22.8.

Hence: Produces more power and eats relatively less fuel.

Higher Horse power also implies a better CNG success rate. All the under powered cars fail to provide a satisfactory performance on CNG (Japanese Alto, Pajero Mini etc, all are underpowered and have the worst performance on CNG).

Some people say Corolla is more spacious. The seating capacity for both the cars is 5. However, Honda City's trunk is MUCH more spacious than that of Corolla. The reason is that Honda's Fuel tank is not beneath the trunk, its beneath the front seats so the trunk is much more deeper and spacious than any other Pakistani car.

All the qualities with lesser price and the latest i-vtec. VVT-i was introduced in 1996 (14 years ago). i-vtec is hardly 4 to 5 years old technology..

Please don't compare VVT-i and i-VTEC without proper knowledge about them. In fact The VTEC technology was developed before VVT. Both are designed to adjust the timing of the engine in order to suit the driving need. i.e having different timings at different rpm ranges to deliver maximum power at both ranges. Both technologies are old and equally competetive, the new "i" here stands for intelligent, since the relations discussed above are non linear, having a computerized chip for control is better than standard timing control.
