Corolla GLI Engine Overhaul or Swapped like Honda city Engine Swap

Hi Friends,

I want to know that, if Honda City IDSI engine goes bad or blown then we usually swapped it with another new/use one from junkyard and dont try to Overhaul as it is not a successful practice. it cost's about 18,000 to 25,000- usually (As I heard)

My 1 friend told me that, dont buy City IDSI as its engine blown up easily and when some heat up its head shape goes change.

Usually, I like to use cars for long route too for twice a year with family

What about Corolla GLI or XLI for model 2004-05-06-07.
What is the best practice.
Do we Overhauled it or swapped them ??? and how much cost ???
if its engine heatup then corolla engine block goes wrong shape ???

If, the answer is SWAPPED, it means both cars are same, just differ is engine power and shocks.

Wrong info. I have seen 2003 City IDSI with 464,000 km on ODO with no work done on engine, not even gasket. Only some deals were replaced.

First of all, why are you taking engine swap or overhaul thing so seriously ???
Man just go & get a well-maintained ride (city or GLI) & they will be tension free for you if u will take proper care.
And if you want to overhaul properly, then u can overhaul the engines of both cars, but people just swap them with kabuli half assemblies bcz they are easily available & lower in costs as compared to overhaul & they r more durable then local overhaul. Thats the only reason for swapping engines.
For example, you can easily get corolla's 2nzfe kabuli half assembly for around 25-30k after adjusting your old one, almost same goes with city's L13.
And these engines are hell of reliable man, I have Toyota vitz 2001 with original 1300cc 2nz under the hood & it has 488,000 kilometers on the odo till date. Still no oil consumption, no power loss. Using full AC.
