Salaams G"Men . Just received Corolla 2018 Grande .. Please how to configure Sygic and Google Maps .Also there is a SIM/ SD Card slot--- The Android User Manual does not indicate the purpose of SIM card ..Please Advise

For Sygic maps run the app it will give you device ID number and ask for activation. Now take a photo of this screen or note down it and text, WhatsApp it to your dealership and ask them to send activation code for it.

For Google maps, go to Google settings and enable location. You will need Internet to run Google maps.

Sygic is outdated. Install Waze and use that with Internet.

You can put a micro sd card and a nano sim in slot. Sim is basically for Internet and you can make the infotainment a WiFi hot-spot.

Sim slot is also used if you subscribe to Toyota Connect service app for which is pre-installed. I am using a free one-month trial of Toyota Connect. An app is also installed on your mobile phone and you can track your car, set speed alerts and it also tells you about engine on, off, hard braking, idle time, travel time, trip information etc. From infotainment you can send SOS to your phone in case of emergency.

I do not see much utility of this service and it is expensive in my opinion.

No need for net connection. Sygic by TPL is offline.

Did you send them your device code? If yes send them again. Take a photo of sygic screen where it gives device code and send that photo. Every device code has unique activation code by Sygic.

What version of firmware you are running on infotainment unit. If you get it updated you will get a later version of sygic with it.

activated the sygic but it crashes everytime. i think now i need to update the infotainment system. went to the showroom but invain. i have to do it myself .

Aoa. I just got my 2018 grande and toyota has given six months free 4g and toyota connect app. I just want to know that is it necessary to insert memory card for system software update ? Secondly does this system uses the same memory card size which we use in smart phones.micro sd card? Will 32 gb kingston memory card work fine without hanging ? Looking forward for suggestions and experince of this car.

Yes it uses microsd card. I used 32 gb one and it worked fine. All new cars are coming with ver 11 of infotainment software.

Old versions can only be upgraded by vendor. Call your dealership regarding updates.

I think avi and mp4. You can go in advance settings and enable video play. I think it's hand brake off setting you have to change. Password for advance settings is 1234.

Bro just last thing i want to know from you. Are using grande yokohama stock tyres 2015/55/R16 ? Just one clarification on below query

Is this 205/55/R16 profile ok for grande 2018 as there is much gap between body and the tyre. Does this affects drive and smoothness. Will there be any major difference if piralli p-7 tyre with 205/60/R16 is replaced with stock yokohama tyres.will the car be lifted bit in terms road clearence.

I find these tires very good in terms of comfort, grip, stability and safety. Gap is not much, you will get comfortable with it after sometime. Changing these tires will be just waste of money.

205 60 R16 make the ride extremely comfortable. Moreover, road clearance will improve remarkably. However, pick & economy will suffer a bit. Your choice. Not a bad decision.
